the height of the bed and no dump would make Me want to pass for a firewood rig. It would be fun off road tho! Throw a dozen of you buddies and a cooler in the back
I’ve seen several duece & half’s with bale beds on them for feeding cattle in western KS. I would use one, just would have to add a dump to it. They have a PTO off the transmission so adding hydraulics would be straightforward. I would just take the splitter with me and load with an elevator. but, like you, I don’t have time for another project.
I think it depends on your intentions. If your going to load it with a machine, the bed height doesn't really matter. We used to use 6 wheel dump trucks, 10 wheelers, and tri-axles for cordwood all the time.
Yeah, so we've rented one of these (the extended family) 3 times over the past few years. That and hauling tractors and box blind builds around to hunting leases would be easier.
