Caffeeeeeeine! Time to get my son up and go for our walk/run. First one on our new wheels. Our new pairs of ASICS GT-1000 9 came in yesterday. Time to break them in. Then, after breakfast, hopefully mow some grass with the brush hog for a little bit this morning.

cool time watching the movie from the boat last night. Screen is a little on the small side for watching from a short distance, but it was still pretty cool! He is going to do it again next weekend too, I need to pick up a stern anchor before that to keep the boat from swinging back and forth before then.

    NAGGING

Delilah nagged Samson until he finally revealed the secret of his strength. The phrase "tired to death" sums up the effects of nagging, doesn't it? Sometimes we give in to our kid's requests, even when we know it's not best for them, just to buy some momentary peace. It comes at a price, however, because we've rewarded the very behavior we want to discourage.

Parents can be good at nagging, too. One reason we default to nagging is because it's easier than following through with consequences. But we have to ask ourselves whether relieving our anxiety for a moment is really producing the behavior we are seeking?

Relationships suffer when we nag. It's not a behavior that earns respect and it can cause our kids to grow "tired to death" of us. Even though it's tough to give consequences with empathy, it's a much more considerate way to treat our children.

Giving consequences with empathy is far more effective than nagging.

    Verse
Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you won’t confide in me? This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven’t told me the secret of your great strength.” With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was sick to death of it.

Yes! Love it. Got a walk/run in and mowed some grass with the L48 and 6’ rotary cutter. Then, :(, off to the enjoyment center. :picard:

Cooler here too. The light rain has put a damper on any outside stuff, and it ain’t doing my arthritis any good either.

Very warm yesterday for our area and today will be warm as well. I am talking of temps in the 75 to 78 F range. Tomorrow should be the last of the warm weather. Clothes are really drying on the line.

Light rain all day and much cooler outdoor temps. 67ºF currently. Nice to have the windows open and some fresh air even though it is quite humid.

My girlfriend and Mother are totally smoked out from the Cameron Peak fire. Mom is just smoke but my friend who is closer to Loveland said she has ashes landing in her back yard. Yep, WWW was going to try to take the boat to Chambers later this week

I'd definitely call that a win as well. So you're good till, what 200k on it? Also, it's amazing and lucky that you found a responsible owner that did the belt when it was actually due. Most will put it off a while, especially if they are selling it.

When I was looking for my audi allroad, I did test drive and looked at a couple 2.7 twin turbo base models. None of them had proof that they had the timing belt changed, and all were at the point where they needed it done. Had one of those v6's had the 6 spd I might have tried to do some digging to see if it had been done. The timing belt is an absolute mega PITA to change on those 2.7 allroads. body panels need to come off even. Like $1800 worth at a private shop. So I was elated when I found the even more rare than a manual v6 V8 (with the timing chain), and lower miles for not too much more $$.

A former coworker had an odyssey that needed the timing belt replaced and the bill was $900. Not cheap, but if you can do it for a lot less than half of that, great.

Oh yes, it's' in the National Forest, just the campground for the lake, not structures for miles and miles. But the smoke is traveling all the way towards FTC. Oh, have your better 1/2 ask her son.

Her son in Colorado has been sending pics

Can't remember how far the distance is, but it's substantial.

    He's in Fort Collins Co.

Might want to get 2 anchors so that you have 3 to keep you in place.

Yes, that's why I mentioned it, all the same fire. No worries at all, like 60 miles from town as the crow flies, and the High Park Fire 2012 burned all the dead undergrowth between there and town :)

I just added 2 pics from up here, one is my backyard, and the other was WWW from a roof of a cabin in the mountains near here. FYI, the fire was so hot it was creating it's own thunder head clouds, the very very white bubbly ones on top.

She says that the fire is happening in one of their favorite camping sites

She says it's like 60 miles away. I thought it was much further.

60 miles as the crow flies, more like over 100 when driving the roads. And yes, WWW was headed to the big lake there later this week.
