Our lot guy was a goober...one time the sales guys pooled $20 and dared him take a whole spoonful of Dave's Insanity Sauce in one bite...dry...nothing to wash it down. He did it, but then went back in the wash bay and puked...coughing and gagging, turned red, tears and snot running down his face, fast shallow breaths...they felt bad for him and went next door to get him some milk to drink...that helped, but he went home sick anyways. The store owner found out what happened and the sales staff all got a stern talkin to the next morning.

Well darn, here we go, the smoke from the newest fire that is closer is blowing our direction. I was cooling the house off with all the windows open but thick "campfire" smoke in the house is not an option, just closed all the windows down. Not fond of the freezing window a/c, but glad we have it.

That might usually be true, but if he is using it as a business expense, it is a tax break instead. I believe he can write it all off in 5 years too. However, I'm not a tax attorney, so I could be full of bologna. All I know is I've known people with their own business in construction who lived pretty well, but a tax time showed only 11k in income.

Mid 60's today with the wind off the ocean and cloudy. I'll be working in the attic again with tolerable temps. We have windows open, but still a little humid.

I was sitting out back with the Mrs. last evening. Right at 7:30 the turkeys show up to roost in the maple trees. The hummingbirds were harassing each turkey as they flew up into the tree. Lotta snot in those tiny birds.

Sorry but I know firsthand that they will. I'll bet we lost close to 1/2 bushel one year before we caught it. We then quickly picked the rest of the peaches.

One year we wade the mistake of putting netting up. Bad idea for critters. We even caught several chipmunks high in the trees.

Doesn't have much to say at all nor does it disprove what we have experienced.

It does dive into it a bit. I got out of it that if the fruit are over ripe, that they've gone after fruit juice. It also says in the article that there's a lot that isn't known about hummingbirds and that they've found them to eat a lot of things that people wouldn't think. :handshake:

One of the neighbors on the pond is having a boat-in movie tonight. Should be a great time. He’s playing Caddyshack.

    Yay ! another wildfire !
Williams Fork fire started around noon yesterday and is ripping pretty good. Very smokey here, the sun is a pink orb you can look at for a second. I hunt elk in that area, it will be difficult to contain so it's an airshow for the time being. As the crow flies, maybe 20-25 miles from me, so no concerns.

First great day in a while to work outside all day.
Got the shoulder wood Hemlock stacked. Pulled a couple trailer loads of storm damage maple up to the yard and in between got surprise delivery of maple from the kid I’ve been fixing saws for, and now sharpening chains.
My daughter remarked its a real symbiotic relationship.
I don’t know about that, but I’ll wrench on a few saws and sharpen some chains for free wood, delivered.

Well, today was the day the '08 Odyssey was to get a new timing belt/etc...until it wasn't.
Day was going poorly, everything I touched went to crap...almost canceled my plans to work on the Ody...but after stopping for a late lunch I felt better about it and decided to go for it...got started a little after 3. Got it about 1/2 way apart when I see this IMG_20200815_190334551.jpg
And then I notice the timing belt is a Gates...and the original would have said Honda on it. So its obviously been changed...so I text the former owner, she said maybe this guy Frank did it for us...then when I sent her the pic, she says, yup, that's his initials. She text him and he said yes, I did that. Can't read the mileage, but its must be 100k, the first number is clear, and it has 103k on it now...and she said it was hardly driven in the last year...hence the reason for selling it.
I decided since I was already so deep in, I better check to see if the water pump was changed...yup looks like they did a full timing kit, belt, water pump, belt tensioner and pulley, and serpentine belt pulley too.
Got it pieced back together and back on 4 wheels a little after dark...so all it all I had 5-6 hours in it...probably less than I would have if I went ahead and changed everything out myself, and, now I have a timing kit on the shelf for when our '09 needs one in about 40k miles...ima call it a win.
