You've apparently spent too much time on that other site...FHC doesn't lock down threads every time a gnat flies by. I don't understand why your are getting your underoo's in a knot...you already said the mower is fixed...so what's it matter if the thread drifts off now?
Brenda Brenda, the undies are silk, silk. The mod said in past posts, " off topic, start a new thread". SOooooooooooooooooooooooooo....... It all depends ( DEPENDS Brenda ). And what's all this "other site" paranoia ? Specify.
Yes, but they don't know they are idiots... That's what makes them so fun to watch. Idiots can be very entertaining!
Have some of these installed on several manufactures high mileage engines all diesel. No problems that I have heard
Not something that gets used on a daily driver but when a truck sits on the side of the highway for weeks in New England February ( believe it or not it still gets cold down here by mass)and then need to be moved to the next site you gotta do what you gotta do.
Mr. Warn where have you been ? D.I. is universal for DRILL INSTRUCTOR. Usually referring to mil trainers. Sorry about your lapse.
Yup, there's times that its needed...and when its that cold, its not as volatile...but still plenty of engines ruined in that scenario due to operator (Bubba) error too. Like I said earlier...its my last resort choice...and needs to be applied with some sense. Block heater would be a better choice, but if there is no electric available, or time to let it work, not gonna help much. (ever heard of building a small fire under the oil pan? I've never done it, but I guess that was (is?) not that uncommon in some places) If you are trying to get a old worn out diesel started in warmer weather, ether will often cause them to "lock up" until it dissipates...in that, gasoline in a spray bottle works better...either way, NO glowplugs! I do have an OLD rotten weed eater that gets a lil snort of ether once in a while...but I could care less if it gets ruined. I won't use it on a small engine I actually care about. Back in high school our shop teacher had a piston that he kept on his desk out of a Briggs that had been a victim of ether...piston split in two... I think he was trying to scare all us farm kids straight...knowing that most of us grew up using the way to much!
I have heard of the campfire but these trucks leak so much that a fire would be bad. I have had to make a tarp tent with a salamander heater to thaw trucks out on a snowmobiling trip. We rode in stayed for a week -10 average temp. The trucks were not happy when we got back. Fun times
