She had been having a rough time with keeping food and water down, on and off for a few months. 2 earlier trips to the vets seemed to help. Shots to calm her stomach and they rehydrated her. She'd go 3-4 weeks OK, then start losing food and water again. Today we went in, after 4 days trying different things (Pepsid AC, etc) with nothing working. Vet decided to do some tests. Turned out Giz' liver was a day or two from complete failure. Surgery would have been a long shot. Vet said the numbers, testing the liver, should be between 1 and 125... Giz' was over 6000... and, it was the reason she'd been having pain in the stomach area (recently), along with the vomiting. It was time. My honey and I are a mess, but relieved to know Giz is no longer so miserable. We're really gonna miss her round here... what a day... give your fur buddies an extra pat pat tonight.
Man that is too bad. I know Giz was big in your lives. Hopefully Giz is chilling on a stack of firewood now.
Sorry Stinny, it's tough to let them go even though you know it's the right thing. Every dog should be so lucky to have such great human partners.
It's a darn hard thing to deal with Stinny . Sorry for your loss brother. This is the downfall of animals but they bring so much love it out weighs the goodbyes.
Sorry for your loss my friend...You kids gave your dog a great life and from all the pictures of Giz that I have viewed over the years, that pooch was a happy dog!! You will meet again sometime far away in the future...Giz will be waiting for you at the end of the rainbow bridge!
Really sad to hear for your loss, my old girl is having issues and thought I was going to have to do the same back in May. It's never easy. Can't "like" your post but you can rest assure my thoughts are with you.
Rest In Peace Sweet Giz. You were wonderful to Bumpah and VV and they loved you so much. I'm sorry for your loss Stinny & Bride. But I am assured she is in Heaven and already met up with Sandy and your Huskies. I regret they just cannot live as long as we'd like, but, also feel so Blessed for the time we do have with them.
So very sorry to hear about Giz Stinny. It's a devastating blow when it happens to a family member. Our thoughts are with you and your family and may Giz rest in peace.
So sorry to hear about your loss. Our fur babies hold a special place in our hearts. May GOD give you both comfort and peace.
Sorry to hear this Stinny. All of you were very fortunate to have each other. I enjoyed all of the pictures you put up. Take care.
So sorry for your loss our friend. You and yours gave her a great life. And Giz thanked you by giving you her best. Nothing will take away those memories. Keeping pictures of her around will keep good memories around and in your minds. Thanks for sharing some of those memories with us.
