Any N.C. or VA members feel that quake this morning?

Very close to home! Shook the house for a few seconds. The only thing I could think of were trees falling close to the house, but it lasted too long for that. My wife and I were still in bed. She knew what was going on, as she’d been through a few small ones.

North Carolina earthquake felt in several surrounding states

That’s quite common, a FHC member’s wood pile falls over and then everyone thinks it was an earthquake!

That must’ve been a big firewood pile, Jack Straw ! A coworker said it was felt in Atlanta. There was a 3.2 aftershock this afternoon but I didn’t feel it.

Eric VW I recently discovered I have a cousin living just to the northeast of Charlotte, NC. She told me she felt the quake but friends of hers that live in Sparta had a bunch of stuff knocked off of shelves.

This is the first earthquake I have felt. I’ll be 31 soon and I’ve lived here my whole life. I remember my mom telling me that she had felt one when she was a girl. She’ll be 60 next year. It seems like the most damage was inflicted on the eastern side of town, along the Little River.

edit: To answer your question Stinny, I’d assume there is one close to the river.
