Hello I just weed wack them and they came back so quickly!! This time I did pull some by the root, but the other ones I burned with a torch. Does this help or is there a much better way? Does Roundup work? Any good tips?
2,4-D is a herbicide that kills plants by changing the way certain cells grow. 2,4-D comes in several chemical forms, including salts, esters, and an acid form. The toxicity of 2,4-D depends on its form. The form also affects what will happen to 2,4-D in the environment and what impacts it may have, especially on fish. 2,4-D is used in many products to control weeds, and it is often mixed with other herbicides in these products
I don’t personally use round up. I use the stuff from the agriculture store.... I seem to having a better performance out that stuff... as mentioned earlier, I use a 2,4D along with the grass/weed killer.. It’s a Gorden variety... at 2%....
Last night I used the roundup on the burned roots that I found in my garage so between burning and this, I will see what happens. Thanks everyone! My friend said use it in the evening so the hot sun would not dry it to quickly.
This ^ ^ ^. Regular Roundup will kill the weeds, but they will be back in 2-3 weeks even bigger and badder! I use Groundclear...but anything with a residual effect will keep 'em down 3-6 months.
I weedwhack them down, and then let them be. With a little mindset change, they become a feature rather than an annoyance.
Yes...my mindset has been changing gradually over the years...we have a lot more "features" in the landscaping than used to be...the former owner is probably rolling over in her grave, she was a huge garden club nut...had pics of the garden in the local paper more than once. The attitude I have now is to just do what we can, and if we can keep things from getting out of control...good enough.
How about a nice chemical free weed killer? Electrocution! Weedinator! The new pesticide-free way to clear your garden. But beware... it packs as many volts as the electric chair | Daily Mail Online Does this sound shocking? Same voltage as the electric chair! One slip and it can boil the blood in your veins to 248 Degs F which is fatal!!
Your best bet is to get a generic roundup with at least 41% active ingredient. Like TurboDiesel said mix a little bit of 2,4,D in with it. Get the amine formula. Just keep away from any desirable plants. The 2,4,D is for broadleaf weeds. A surfactant added to your mix will give better results. If you know any farmers around you ask them were they get there chemicals. EDIT. Whatever you get,READ THE LABEL!
I believe Roundup is systemic and really only works if applied to growing foliage. I'm avoiding chemical weed killers and plan to try a torch soon (in the spirit of the forum and pyros everywhere). Any tips on that would be appreciated.
My friend uses a torch but it was not enough so he recommended roundup after using the torch. So that is what I did.
