How did those on the East cost fare? There are allot of limbs and trees down in my neighborhood. My power flickered a few times and I could hear power line circuit breakers buzzing and reconnecting etc. I had a maple on the back of my property split, the tree was already compromised.
I feel fortunate. My wife is in Old Saybrook and we were spared there as well although power is out.

There are trees down all over Long Island. A wood hoarders utopia, if you will. Problem is im all out of storage space.

Some needed rain but a big fat ZERO for trees down. No firewood storm scrounge this time around.

My neighborhood here in Bristol got slammed. I live on a long hill and the wind was barreling down it from the south. I had a large white oak and a couple smaller red oaks come crashing down, some smaller maples and tulip polars, along with a hickory. I spent about 3 hours tonight running the saw and trying to clean up. The white oak hit my wood piles. Thankfully nothing hit my house or vehicles. One thing is certain, I’m going to end up with a ton of firewood!

Wow right in your own back yard. You are right you will have a bunch of firewood when you get it all processed.

Yeah I’m pretty thrilled it landed smack in the middle of my processing area! I’m happy those trees came down too, not just for the firewood either. Now I’ll have enough sunlight in the backyard to grow corn next year. The giant oaks that were there shaded everything out.

More wind from this than hurricane Sandy here in the heart of south Jersey. One big limb down in my yard. Been without power since around 11:30 this morning

Never lost power here. Tree blocked our section of driveway. Landlords barn hit with it. Made holes in roof. I cleared the path at the height of the storm so i could get out. Big oak limb dangling from lines leading up to his house. Lots of limbs and no shortage of trees down as i toured the area. Had to take three "treetours" (detours) as some roads were completely blocked. Score i just cut at Saturday had two trees and a massive oak limb come down.
Fuzzy pics from my cheepo cell phone.

I have several other pics but PITA to get them from my flip phone to the forum.
Took a walk in my woods after supper when the wind had subsided and a good sized oak down that knocked down a medium basswood. Dead ash down on the back hillside. Wood ill get in the late Fall.

We are safe, but have some trees down, some to take down, and lot’s of cleanup. We have no power and Verizon data just came back at severely reduced speed.

Hey Joe. Same here. Though I gotta say Verizon data is performing faster than usual. Everyone’s still asleep.

For a while it was non-existent, I had to drive to Portland to get data. I have an LTE modem/ router that supplements our cable modem and I can see that they had shut down some of the bands and we're operating on narrower bandwidth.

The analog HAM repeater on Mt Parnassus is up, the East Hampton one is down, I think.

Lots of traffic on the repeater last night.

I texted you when I was watering the chickens amd the NOAA alert came on and said there was a storm in Haddam moving North and it was rotational and heading toward you. That tornado warning got cancelled right after my text.

I also wondered about Brad's relations near Hurd. It didn't materialize into a tornado. But went through that area if I'm not mistaken.

I think we will lose our huge sugar maple in the back. It keeps dropping branches on the chicken run and electric fence, and one very large one is dangerously hung up near the kid's play area. If it has to be dropped, it will get "cremated". RIP, tree, maybe I'll pour out a little syrup and say a few kind words.

Saw your text. Good time to take a nap :)
Just took a ride. Main roads look ok from the little I saw. Secondary’s are beat up. Most blocked at one point or the other. Had to take a lot of detours around downed trees. If you want wood there’s plenty out there now. LOL

Weather Channel this morning said nearly 700,000 without power in Connecticut. We never lost it. One of my regulars has a big limb blocking their driveway. Out early today to cut that up. Unfortunately its silver maple but ill take it anyhow. They are wood customers as well so ill sell it to them next year?
Have ads up on CL for chain saw work/storm clean up.

Not bad here at all in SE Mass. I went for my usual 7-8PM 3.5 mile run/walk and only saw one small-ish branch down in a parking lot. It was still fairly windy at that time though so I was keeping an eye out for flying objects.

Lost cable and internet in East Granby. There are power outages in town. The other side of this tree came down between a stack and a shed. I will have to deal with the widow maker and will probably seek a professional. [IMG]

Trees down all over here. Branches and leaves all over my yard and driveway. Lost power yesterday at approx 6pm, still no power. My town actually made the news, over half the town without power.
