Nephew on my wife's side. He left a dependent mother and a adult autistic son among others. We all live within 4-5 miles of each other.

That's very unfortunate, my prayers and condolences. Will you have to take up the slack in his absence ?

    RELEASE CONTROL

God does not force Himself on us. Even when the consequences are extremely high, He gives us the choice to obey or disobey. How heartbreaking it must be when His children choose death over life.

We can relate as we watch our kids make self-destructive choices for momentary pleasure. Every Christian parent yearns for his or her children to "choose life". Our example and the way we parent has an enormous influence on our kids, but it will never give us total control. Despite all our best efforts, eventually we must accept the fact that we cannot grant our kids an intimate relationship with the Lord. That is something they must choose for themselves.

Good parenting cannot guarantee a good result. For that, we must trust the Lord.

    Scripture

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
    Deuteronomy 30:19‭-‬20 NIV

Caffeine going in. Family visitors in for the week. Should be a good time.

We had some decent rain yesterday and avoided the more severe storms. Watched some cool lightening shows last night off in the distance. Lost power in some spots near the river, but home never lost it.

Hope to get a quick run in this morning and then relax and hang out with company the rest of the day. All you hoarders have a good and safe day.

Keep in mind......“The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.”

He has a short tail, but he doesn't look like a bobcat. Do bobcats and mountain lions interbreed?

But the state biologists say there are no mountain lions in Maine?

No. And too big for a Bobcat. Looks like a Mountain Lion that lost its tail somehow.

It surely is nice to see that many will see night temps in the 40's this week! Makes one pine for fall!

There have been mountain lion reports in that area for at least 30 years. That looks kind of weird, ears seem a little pointy like a bobcat but seems too big for bobcat, and the tail appears short but not like a bobcat and the black tip is a hallmark of ML.

Maybe it's a chupacabra? SKEETER McCLUSKEY
