The interesting thing is the picture of the old windows you took to the dump would sell for $40 each in a flea market here so people can do crafts with them.
Rainy day, so I got a pile of old fence boards that have been a eyesore and set it ablaze. I don’t like making furs if there is any risk burned all away and had a good shower to quench the ashes. Took a nap during the rain. Then spent a bit of time tinkering with my old Challenger. Next nice sunny spell, I will take it in to have the exhaust put on and finish up the interior and enjoy it
There are classic car lovers here, I personally have an old Blazer (yes, needs restored but still runs well and gets me from here to there). Scotty Overkill has a cherried out Maverick, I don't recall the other members at the moment but thought I would let you know. Your Challenger sounds awesome!!
Scotty Overkill I always like the Maverick Grabbers when they came up, but was always disappointed they never put a four speed behind the 302. Ford as really stodgie when it came to their “performance “ packages after 1970. my Challenger is the One I ripped around town in as a teenager. People from then are amazed I still have it.
I doubt you would get $40 around here a piece but maybe $20-40 for the stack. But yes they have value for crafts.
That time was tough for every manufacturer. Performance was restored shortly after the oil crunch in the 70's. Remember the 80's -the early 2000's for Chrysler? They had pretty much nothing to offer performance wise outside of the viper in the mid//- late 90's, and most people couldn't afford those.
My 71 Grabber has been upgraded a bit.....performance motor with a 5 speed behind it. We have a lot of fun in this car just had it to the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle PA yesterday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Grabber! And we were in Kingsport/Bristol a few weeks back for the Maverick/Comet Collectors International (MCCI) Roundup Nationals.
A few inside chores this morning. Then off to the enjoyment center. It’s raining outside, yeah , we need the water! So, I can’t mow my trails this morning like I had hoped. Oh well, maybe tomorrow afternoon or evening. Looks like rain off and on most of the day today. Just what the farmers need.
Rain predicted here but instead we have an awesome sunrise and warm air. No wind. Yesterday was quite hot in the afternoon. I picked my first broccoli and peas for dinner. The peas were awesome. The broccoli was almost ready to flower. Squash are taking over the garden.
Yesterday a half day was spent in the attic working on the bedroom project. I was going to take it easy today and paint or restore a door for the small bathroom. I went and tackled the wasteland which was really getting out of control. Looking north along the barn. There is a 3 foot drop off a stone wall here. South view. This area has stumps, rocks, bricks pt lumber along with the slope. I started with the brush cutter, went to the string trimmer and ended with loppers. There was pokeweed, bittersweet, brambles, re-sprouting stumps, etc. Found the bike that needed a bit of work. Scrap yard bound. Every stem and stalk got cut or hit with the trimmers, so all the green should die back in a week. I left the ferns along the drip line of the barn. Once this all dries out, I'll shred it. This fall, I'll get in and grub it out a bit. Those stumps are a pain to work around. There is just enough room for the tractor to get in there when I get the stumps cut down or they rot away. That's it for the heavy work today, as it is pretty humid here. The power equipment was a huge time saver.
That Giant bicycle is worth more than scrap. Put it up on CL or marketplace. I bet you'll get way more than the 76 cents they'd pay you in scrap. Nice work though. That grown up brush is a PITA to clear, and it sure grows fast. maybe try burning the stumps?
And apparently didn’t think about me and Fire Flake being an hour and 10 minutes away... Mac is looking gooder Scotty.
