This cabin near hear didn't do so in this last storm. Another round of it coming this pm with up to 5 inches of rain predicted.
Not mine, it is near here. Also many roads washed out from flash flooding in the Rumford area. ( not far from Stinny) Flood warnings are up until 6 am on Sat. I doubt there will be many BBQ s around here today.
Ouch... Yep, looks like someone will have firewood. Be safe with all the weather your getting. We had some last week about 2 block down the street. I think there was a down burst or a drop of a funnel. About a block worth of trees got damage. I know 2 cottonwood (gigantic and old split homeowner was fortunate power lines not so much), a mulberry ( I'm going to ask the home owner if I can get it, since it's out in the middle of his yard), and a several pizz elms, and the top 10 foot of a cedar tree twisted off & hanging down.
I was with the crews that went to the Philadelphia area. Tons of trees broke off did not see any structures damaged where we were thankfully.
I have friends still without power, and one saying their access road is washed out. These storms come with high winds and huge amounts of rain. I lost a few tree limbs, nothing major. I try to have trees removed when they get to a size they can damage my home.
Yea I don't like big trees around the house either. I do have two big oaks out back and don't want to take them down because of shade. Sorry to hear your friends are still out. We all talked about we would go north if asked but the company sent us home. Just the way it works. We are owned by the same company as the utility un Philly so I guess it makes sense to have us come there instead of contractors.
