Thanks Chaz. Judging by the posts and pictures of some of the other firewood addicts on here, it looks like I finally found a home.

I looked at the Frostbite and thought about it, however there will be times I'm moving large stones, brush, and just scooping split firewood, and the Frostbite isn't conducive to all those tasks. I went with the Everything Attachments 60" Wicked Root Rake Grapple. A bit heavier at 400# than I wanted but it seems to be a workhorse.

Welcome to FHC. Great first post and you'll settle in just fine in no time. There are a lot of great folks on here that get along well. You'll see in short time that it is almost like family.

I've met a lot of the New England members, and a few beyond, and the last get together was great. Lots of us have similar interests. Keep at it.

Thanks Stinny. If it snowed 12 months a year I'd be ok with that. I forgot to post a pic of ice, can't leave that out. This was a fun winter skating past the firewood shed!

Thanks Fishingpol. Already liking what I'm seeing here. Been around firewood a long time but still have a lot to learn. Looking forward to tapping into the wealth of knowledge the forum members here have.

I almost bought 10 acres in Whitefield back around '02. Would love to have that property now. I'm up that way a lot to 'visit' the Village Gun Store.

Hope to next year or two. Timing would be key as we have some of my family on LI to visit with.
    We’ll see.

Much better going up 91 in VT towards St. Johnsbury and then dropping down into NH. I used to make the trip from NC and VA back home all the time when I was in the Corps. I can give you a good route that bypasses most of 95 and all the traffic and tolls.

I’d probably be hightailing it from LI, maybe take the Orient Point ferry to CT, and then on up.

We are finding that you just have to do it. Been since 2008 since we have done anything for a vacation. Finally this year we can, put it this way we should be heading to Niagara Falls Friday but things changed and we are heading back to my hometown to see some family for a few days.
