Horkn my hat is off to you, my friend. I did lots of woods work in my youth and remember a lot of cussing about the hot weather but no more would I entertain the thought of running the saw in this stuff now.

btw, did you get any rain? None here and does not look promising for today either.

Having a little fun in GA this morning.
Bucked these 4 logs first thing. 0727200834.jpg Used the huskihl XS362 on the first 3.
First log on the right made all the pieces on the ramp 0727200952.jpg Then used the MS461 w 32b/C to handle the big log. My shirt was light brown this morning. Big round is from that log. 0727201000a_HDR.jpg

Yeah, we got a little over a half inch of rain. That was nice. Other parts just a bit to our north for about 2" from last night's rain. What we got was just about right.

I hate working in weather like this, but our neighbor is awesome, and I got great firewood out of it. I said I'd cut it up for him, so I did. I even cut and desnagged the smaller branch that was hung up in the tree. Now I've got more I need to split. That will wait until fall though. I am past my youth stage as well;).

It's supposed to be not so hot this week. Maybe I can get more done on the woodshed tonight? That's the plan

Jeff, that a dog's tick collar around your neck ?
Never understand how anyone can cut in the 90's and 90's humidity. It's what we have now even in Maine....tough to do anything outside.:hair:

When the going gets tough the tough keep going. Sometimes you have to suck it up and get the job done irregardless.

    Well done.

Yep, I aint nothing but a hound dog....
    Lol...
It's my ear plugs, noise reduction, for when my hunny complains it's to hot to be working....
Truck said about 96°, yard weather station had about 102°. Humidity was down anout 52%. Took a little break to work on our daughter's window A/C unit, wasn't draining properly, took it out, cleaned and reinstalled it. Now back onnthe woodyard...just broke down 4 30" oak rounds, got the ramp loaded up again. 0727201747.jpg

I don't know how long your burning season is down there, but you seem to be more prepared for winter than the typical Yankeeland hoarder is! After processing firewood in that kind of relentless summer heat I imagine you'd be praying for the next cold front to come through!

    How hot was it ?
Jeff, you're near the 3 score. Lie low, take it easy.....an order.:salute:
Do you southern people really ever get acclimated to heat and humidity ?
Got to tell you that I am impressed that any hard work gets done.

I won't mind for it to cool off some. We usually start burning small fires in late Oct and burn til March, sometimes April.
We burn some, sell some and give some away as a ministry. I really enjoy being outside, working.
Another thought, we aren't promised tomorrow, if I'm not able to CSS wood, I want my hunny to be able to burn for quite a few years.

T.Jeff Veal , you are crazy! All I did tonight was pick up sticks from the yard after the storm, and drink painkillers ( the tiki drink) while grilling burgers and corn.

Plently of New England folk posting picks of work done during the summer in the heat. Some of us work outside in it as well. Maybe it’s a Dow East thing.
