A big branch broke off of my neighbors honey locust.

I said I'd cut it up for him. He said I could have the wood.

    Here's the issue....

Storms are coming in, so I sucked it up.

No pictures of what I started with, or progress, but I got this pic of the end result.

I was beat from this. Sweat, head to toe, even in the shade. I took a few of the branches that were in my way. The neighbor will clean up the rest and throw those on his brush fire pile.

This is probably a face cord.

T.Jeff Veal , you can keep this death hot stuff down by you.;)

I cut in weather similar to that 8 out of the last 9 days. Just drink lots and lots of fluids even when you don’t feel thirsty. As long as you don’t have any medical conditions, you should be fine.

Glad I took care of it when I did. I watched the MotoGP race at 1:30 until now.

    Here's the conditions now

My bike shop boss texted me a pic of a blown over tree right beside his driveway a couple days ago. It's just too darn hot to muck with it! My bald head would fry in about 3 minutes in this stuff. I've been doing outside chores early in the a.m. and throught out the day I'll go out a for a few minutes at a time, then it's right back inside.

    Stay safe!

I went to my fb scrounge over the hill from me. Wanted to get 2 loads but between doing some oak noodling and manhandling logs, I had to settle for one. Drank 3 gatorades and half gallon of water, still felt dehydrated. Still 91* with 0 breeze.

I, too, have cut up honey locust branches for the neighbor. For such a hard wood it sure is brittle. The first time I go my hands on honey locust I was frustrated that after 2 years it didn't seem to have dried much at all. The I figured out that it was in fact seasoned, it simply lost very little weight and had little radial shrinkage. It's some hard, heavy, high btu wood for sure, and smells a lot better than black locust with practically the same heat.

    Nice end result.

A shower, beer, and ceiling fan, feels good after efforts like that.

Similar temps here as well. Did get some nice wood, but did a very rare delay on some great HL. Went by yesterday afternoon and this is all that was left. Checked with the homeowner but was told it is already spoken for. Just so sad as I didn't even cry over loosing out on some of it.
