Should get the remainder tomorrow afternoon, unless someone else grabs it. Homeowner said someone stopped and said they would grab the rest. I told him that's fine, but it's all or none for me to return. He said he understood and said they would not be taking any. Oak is pretty heavy and most people are not equipped to handle the bigger pieces.

Also had a neighbor stop by a couple weeks ago to drop off some rubber roofing for my stacks.

Oak is very heavy.I just finished splitting some big rounds so I could lift the wood to take home. How do you like the rubber roofing ? I have some and I'm hoping it'll help drying the Oak faster. It draws a lot of heat from the Sun.

I agree being black it should help with drying, but I like that it helps keep the snow off in the winter, even though we didn't have much of any snow this past winter. Love how we live in this great neighborhood and watch out for each other. I have offered him money for the roofing but he declines.
Not a huge fan of oak, but needed to have something to do this afternoon. Did not know the pieces were quite this big and put a load on the lift that rated for 1,300 lbs. Easy score and I know it's not always that easy to get rid of big wood. Homeowner seems very glad I got it as the ad was up for a week. Don't know when I will get around to processing it.

I had some spongy soaked Elm once.I put the rubber over it for a couple of weeks and that wood got so dry and burned so hot I thought my stove would melt.So that really sold me on the rubber roofing. What about oak don't you like ?It does take a while to dry what else bothers you about it ? It's going to be 98 here tomorrow so that pile of splits will just have to sit.Hardly any snow in my area also. People say there is no climate change but no snow in the winter is a change in climate.Be well,Be safe.

Today started with unloading oak load 1 from yesterday. Should be about 60.5 cubic feet. After that I met up with Lefty to take care of his friends ash tree that had 2 splits in it. We put a bolt through the split in the trunk on father's day.

After that I picked up the remainder of the pin (?) oak from yesterday, about 25.5 cubic feet.

*blushing* Don't consider myself as a role model, work pretty slow but kind of steady at least. Nice getting off my lazy ash.

Threw up some shelves after work today so I have a place for the saws. Need to work on the spacing sometime as some are a little close together. Not all the saws yet.

Wednesday got off early from work so cut up the oak in the pickup. Didn't want to reload so just did the work in the bed. One nice advantage, most of the chips stay in the truck.

Today went out and dumped the wood at Lefty's. While there I split some of Edwin's wood. Hint, it's the wood that is not nicely stacked. Talked to a couple people on facebook and looks like I should get some mulberry and maybe honey locust, if I have the time or energy. Should be able to drive up to both so stay tuned.
