    Buddy built 10 x 10 smoke house, so tonight’s cherry gig headed his way after we cut and split it tomorrow

    I think it is. Is it also known as choke cherry? I was wondering if regular black cherry is better for smoking, but dont know.

    And now he’s off to go smoking.....

    Last piece he needs is metal door which should soon arrive

    So he got load like this tonight of cherry, one a week ago of white oak, and will get one load of crab apple in about two weeks and we will see how he does.     I’ve asked about shaggy but I have yet to try it. The smell of a fresh split just turns me off to the potential to waste good meat.

    I was shocked a few months ago with how bad sugar maple stunk when fresh split. Closer to cat urine than red oak. How do ya get syrup from that smelly mess LOL
