I love the lobes on those oak rounds! Will you use the splitter vertically to quarter them, and then horizontally to get them smaller, or just stick with vertical for the whole process?
This^^^ We use the red splitter on the right to make smaller pieces, then use the black splitter on the left to finish them up. It is 3x faster than the red one.

We got 5 of those rounds broken down, split and stacked last night. Started about 7:45, finished about 10. Our friend/neighbor Mike came by and really helped out. Making handling size pieces. Letting your fans run all night on the stacks? This man really loves his wood LOL Lot of nice firewood in your yard. Miss Carol is a natural wood stacker. Very impressive. You both seem to have a passion you can share. That’s rare these days. Keep up the good works.
Thank you, brother. We working so hard, have to cool it down...lol... The fans run all the time until we go to working, the we let them cool us off. Moving that air thru the stacks helps start the drying, keeps down mold problems. She says she doesn't stack that good, I told her she is doing a fine job... Probably gonna have to get her a ladder for the new shed... The shed on the right is the one we are working in now, has about 6.5 ft wall/ceiling. New shed on left has 8 ft walls...lol...
My hunny had grandkids duty last night, so I only spent about an hour on the yard. Broke down 6 of the big rounds, stacked the pieces, ready for this evening when I get off. Only tje 2 biggest one left. Might move them with the tractor.
Looking good!!! Always nice when the hunny helps out. My wife isn't too keen on firewood duties. I don't mind though, gives me alone time to think about life.
We finished up the 16 big rounds last night. Have 1 more log from that trunk section to buck and split. Hope to get started on it tonight. We started @7:45 with the ramps full with pieces of the 6 rounds from above. The row when those pieces were finished about 9:30... We decided we had time to tackle the last 2 biggest rounds, got the tractor to move them 38" rounds...Mike manned the splitter Those 2 rounds finished the stack and started the next row... Midwinter guess how many splits in the biggest round???...splits are 2x4, 3x4, 3x5 maybe...nothing OWB size...
That's why I share pics. People can pick up on any little detail and make it their own. How much is the effect of the fan on accelerating drying in the shed? I've been thinking about that detail myself.
