I feel like this may have been a thread before, but I couldn't find it. Anyways.... Post pics of your bonfires here.
My son and I had a decent bonfire going back a few years ago, at our cabin. Base was about 12' dia... lit no prob. ... kept a tarp over it since the previous fall...
Cant have bonfires like those posted where we are, but get a decent flame in out firepit. Use it to start the charcoal when we grill.
Not a huge one, but I am thankful that we are allowed to have one. It really cleaned up the brush pile.
I'm not aware of any laws against it.. But.. we kinda go by the motto.. "If you're not caught, it's all good."
I have been informed that NY DEC does not condone the burning of pressure treated wood. That being said.. Not caught = no fine Edit.. Copy n paste from NY DEC website.. "While most firewood must be untreated, some firewood is heat treated (kiln dried) to control invasive insect species if it is to be transported over 50 miles. Heat treated firewood is not intended to be prohibited. However, the burning of chemically treated wood such as pressure-treated lumber and plywood is prohibited."
We burn any kinda of scrap wood in a bonfire, plus i have... Heard, ya heard of people burning used oil, tires ect ect. Tires make a hell of a fire... So I have heard...
