We got busy last night. After work, we started on this pile of oak. Worked from 7:30 til 10:30 pm. Pile before After Shed before After Hope to finish those rounds tonight. Got to beat the GA heat and bugs
Wow..Great job..If I had that pile...At the most I would halve them and let them sit for 3 yrs and use them for all night long burns..Just me though...
.... there might be something to them Southern people... if this heat holds out like they say.. may have try to this ideal... might be better at night then trying to wake people up.....
I like those too. Ours were ramps for loading 4-wheeler and mower. I have wide sanding belts nailed to them.
Thanks Our stove won't handle it that big. Halved and quartered most, we also sell some and older folks can't handle big splits.
Hey, brother, ya learn to deal with what ya get. When I was put on 12 hrs shifts, it eliminated my favorite 3-11 shift. And the weather isn't always nice on my days off. At least the splitter is quieter than our huskihl saws...lol
My job in the control room is pretty easy. We figured out the splitter idea this spring. Used to split vertical always, but it finally got to our backs and hips. My hunny and I would weeble/ wobble around for awhile when we got up...
We worked more last night, got plenty done, only 10 bigger rounds left, but they will make more splits. This is that heavy black jack oak. Got another row finished. About 1.25 cords now. 7 more rows to fill it.
I think skeeters here handle 15 mph breezes well. Too well. I also use ramp to splitter oil ramps, what I had easily available. Best skeeter repellent is my wife, they bite her and don’t bother me. She is sweeter than I
X2. I knew I had a northern brother... My hunny will say they are eating her up, I just look at my legs and laugh.
When I'm standing on the control side, I use it to pull/roll to me. When I go to reload the ramps, I usually use a small cant hook, easier to hold round in place while I wedge it in place. We have several wedges and a big wheel chock that we use .
