This reminds be of an old parts guy co worker. He would alway say “if it’s in the warehouse we can get it for tomorrow” completely useless info.

Thankfully a lot of people dont think to ask them to cut the long boards in half. I need to seek out more PT this weekend. 8' deck boards were on sale a week ago, like $1.25 off. I wanted to buy ALL of them, save us about $500 in the long run. Couldnt convince my wife though. I'm now halfway through what she wanted me to buy, and will be done out of those in a week. :headbang:She's shocked by how fast they go, even though I was telling her. Her business, her rules I guess.

The PT lumber shortage is crazy right now. With some of the mills shutting down and people doing way more home projects, alot of the lumber yards and big box stores around here can't keep it in stock. But like you found, many people don't think about or want to deal with the longer lengths

That's better than the "free beer tomorrow" sign that says up at the bar, every day.

    I hear you...

Although, my wife is turning a few corners on the couple of items that we're not in 100% agreement on.

I had to cut all these at Menards on my own. You should've seen the looks I got from a couple people when I hauled the 16 footers with the 2) 20' 4x4's in my 5.5' truck bed from where those boards were to their chop saw station. Well I sure wasn't carrying them to the saw.... A ratchet strap ensured they didn't drop down and hit the ground.

I'll need more treated 4x4's, but I should have enough 2x6's for the trusses/ bases. I'll need some 2x4's for the roof, but all that can and will be untreated.

Thank you, it took me a while to find the right truck. I like showing those that think trucks like mine are never used for any hauling, that they are wrong.

My truck is built like yours, just '01 model and 2 WD. I haul loads of firewood on it and pull dump and equipment trailers with it. 0127201549_HDR.jpg 0601201358.jpg

That tropical storm Fay moved through early this AM. Got everything wet then quickly moved on. No telling if any more remnants will swing around through again. But the sun is out and the humidity is 100%. Not good breathing weather for me to be outside. Still need more rain to bring the wells back up to where they should be.
