What's your go to EDC knife? I've carried many different brands over the years but the crkt m21 my buddy gave me last year has been the best knife i've ever used daily. I beat the snot outta that thing and it holds an awsome edge. The double lock mechanism is a pain a first but it does lock the knife 100% . I actually lost that knife a few weeks ago doing a job with my dad and i havent felt right without it so i ordered a new one right away.
Ah. I don't normally have a knife with me unless I'm working on something where I need one. Then I just grab a Sheetrock knife from the garage, vehicle, etc. A gun on the other hand, not often I'm without.
Mine is a Kershaw spring assist open other than the lock its been in my pocket for 3 years no problems
Here's my Gerber. It's my second. Lost the first. I've carried this one in my pocket for over 20 years. Nothing fancy.
Kershaw Speedsafe assisted opening in the pocket and a Leatherman Squirt on the keychain with a generic AAA LED flashlight:
I have a CRKT M16, best knife I have owned. Very reasonable price, especially since I tend to lose a knife annually. I think this one is going on year 4. No one knows how to close it besides me!
I carry three knive plus my leatherman. Each has a different task. The hawkbill for work the case trapper for "good" stuff and the case sodbuster for "rough" stuff. The hawkbills not bad for an import sharpens easy and is tough. They want to take our hook knives awat at work.
I have a few that I rotate. My benchmade is my "good" one. I then have a drawer full of kershaws, gerbers, and some other random ones that I use as "junk knives". Cutting ice melt bags in the winter time is no Bueno on steel so I don't usually spend more than $20 on my junkers. I buy them all at the end of the year when they are all on closeout at cabelas, basspro, etc. I usually buy em 3-5 at a time when a good deal is out there. I also carry this in deer season. http://www.grainger.com/product/5R6...5R669&ef_id=U7qaSgAAAKYyah2c:20140707175410:s This thing is the best skinner out there! Use it, toss the blade and replace!
I don't have enough time into the day to keep my everyday nife sharp so I carry a replaceable blade Sheffield.
My father in-law really likes his piranta during deer season, he's the main skinner. I still like to use my old Buck.
I have a Kershaw that has been sticking around. I have a habit of misplacing knives for a week or 6 months and having to get another one and finding the one I lost. I like the Kershaw though it is slim but fits well in my hand.
I was going to say I dont know to many lineman that still carry a hawkbill. Most all the line companies around here have stopped that and I dont know why, they are great for skinning that big heavy duty insulation. I used to have a klein fixed blade that would sharpen up nice and worked great I dont know what ever happened to it though.
This mine... It's the Kershaw ZT. I bought it a little over a year at the Miami Ok Big Gun show. I love it.....
