Now you just need a calico cat to patrol the stacks... How long do you expect it will take to fill it up TJ?
Shed looks great Jeff The only ones that'll know of the calico roof will be us and whoever flies over your place As long as it keeps the rain off the wood
Did you see the first part of this thread? It is sitting on 4" cap block, then PT 4X4'S, before the skids are put on.
Yes sir, I need to find another yard cat. If I was CSS just for that shed, probably 9-10 days with good wood, should hold 9+ cords.
We did a roof on a house years ago on a mission trip, we jad gotten a bunch of shingles for $3/bundle. Had enough of one color to do the front facing the street, the had several different colors onthe rest of the house. The homeowner wasa sweet lady, when we told her about it, she just laughed and said only 2 people will see it. God, and HE'S glad it's fixed and the other was aircraft pilot and he don't know me...
Amen brother The shingles here are tri-colored under the new metal roof. Some of the 3-tabs required replacement, then the back part of the roof leaked due to ice damming.. So tore off three or 4 rows of 3-tab, extended ice guard another 3 ft or so, and used black architectural shingles as they were free. Didn't bother me one bit. The rain and snow stayed outside, so all was gooder
My FIL is a retired builder and has lots of leftover odds n ends materials...he reroofed the neighbor ladies shed with about 4-5 different shingle colors...he mixed all the colors up so there was no blocks of one color, totally random. Actually looks just fine like that!
Added a little more calico to the shed this morning. Just something the keep the splashing off the bottom.
Good idea and repurpose! Put some gravel down where the water drips off the roof. Lessens the dirt splash.
more important for that unless you like mud! I noticed you used matching screws on the different colors. Leave it to a tradesperson to notice that! All in all and excellent job and great repurpose of materials. May it serve you well for may years!
my bad, didnt look close enough. Small screen on my cheapo netbook. Old eyes and half asleep dont help either.
In your defense, Brad, it is blue screws on the back, just a darker blue. On the other side, after I ran out of blue screws, I found some green screws, 1 piece is blue metal/ green screws and then green on green...lol
