guys got a small question here . i was wonderin if anybody on here ever got hit fairly hard by the bug called chicadas i believe theyare the 17 yr variety meanin they show up about once in 17 yrs well i planted a pin oak last year and this yr it seems to be doin pretty good until the cicada hoard were they are startin nail it good i was wonderin if u dealt with them and what have ya done to try and get rid of em
Dunno when the next batch is do here, but have seen the exoskeletons in quantity. First week of July is when i normally hear the annual ones around here in Southern CT. Find the "shells"through the Summer on out wood siding and tree trunks Pics of one i found last Summer that was fresh from its "shell." Wings hadnt dried yet.
the ones we've had here at my place seem to be a wee bit bigger the're black with red eyes yellow wings
