My small town (pop211) hardware store usually has a gallon or two of Poulan oil for around $12 or so and I don’t have a problem with that if I let myself run out & need it badly. I’ve also spent $15 plus for the Husqvarna stuff and really like how thick & tacky it is. I like it better in warmer weather, seems to thick for winter use. So for the last year or so it’s been TSC & menards brand at around $7-8 a gallon. Planning to get 7 - 10 gallons hoarded by fall & watching the sale prices
Hey Brad , I just bought some from the equipment dealer in North Branford on Route 80 where you like to shop. It was Husky oil and $8 a gallon.
Went to TSC before lunch. There was 3 of the TSC bar oil for 7.99 and about 15 of the Husqvarna for 15.99. Now they only have the Husqvarna on the shelf
Another TSC with no reasonably priced bar oil! buZZsaw BRAD singlehandedly causes a "bar oil shortage" by posting this thread and gets the "hoarders to hoardin" Gonna be a rough year for all the people that cut their wood for the upcoming winter in September/October when they find out there is no bar oil on the shelves at the end of August!
YEP! Hoarders be hoarding. Going to the produce auction tomorrow and the saw shop is just across the parking lot. Gonna add to the 3 gallons I already have.
Update: TSC has the handy feature that shows you in store inventory. There are a bunch of stores within 30 miles of me. Two show limited stock and seven show out of stock for 1 gal county line brand. Most stores have the winter weight in stock.
