I stopped over my brothers today as he was having about a dozen spruce trees removed and a large oak cleaned up of bad limbs. There was a good sized pile in his driveway. The tree company ended up bringing a grapple down to remove the pile instead of chipping on site. They will finish grinding stumps and clean up tomorrow.

I'll help him process the oak later this summer.

Bedroom flooring laid out and ready to nail. I like to get it laid out to acclimate faster and eliminate figuring out where joints will land as I nail.

So long as the bear leaves us alone, we will treat it the same way.

Jon, yes, you are very correct. Smokey has it right.

Going to finish covering garden with straw today. We're close to being done so it should not take long.

I need to do this to my garden. Should keep weeds at bay and moisture in.

Two weeks and two days until Summer break. Am I counting the days? Yes! It has been a long spring of uncertainty. I want to spend more time gardening and sewing not staring at a computer. Don't mind surfing FHC though.

That's the idea. Then come fall, we rake off some of the straw and till the rest in so it becomes fertilizer too.

Boy, that cuts your summer a bit short going that late. And yes, getting outdoors working in garden is good for you. I can't say much about sewing though except for a little bit of sewing leather.

I have to return to school middle of August before school starts. I get six weeks of holidays. Just long enough to not want to go back.

I use hay in my garden. Yes it has weed seed but straw is expensive!

Hope I haven't missed anything in the weeks I have been gone.

I just haven't checked here. We're all ok. Life as normal. Got busy. Out late this time of year with the garden and extended daylight. On the boat on the weekend. Etc.
