Friend happened to be on the grounds board and saved them some coin and got me a scrounge. The cemetery had a few trees in need of cleaning up, dead or on the way. Had crew come in and cut down and limbed them and shredded small stuff but asked if the trunks and branches get left if they would take some off the bill. No problem they said. He then called me and said he had a couple stacks of Ash for me. Kinda a win win saving the cemetery $ and I get wood. 2 stacks each probably close to 1/2 cord each. Sorry only remembered to get a pic of the 1 stack.

Ominous title... Even more of a morbid thought ~ the nutrients that fed the growth of the tree for all those years came from... Anyway, definitely a nice score! Ash to ash, dust to dust. Or in this case Ash wood to wood ash and dust. Enjoy the mangled corpse of the Ash tree :)

Nice scrounge. I am planning on getting a truck and getting rid of the Buick. I don't need a four seater and a truck with an extended cab will work for me. With a truck, I could do some scrounging.

Nice pile of manageable sized wood. Great score Greenstick  Guess there was no stiff competition for that wood?

Most of it was in 4-6 foot pieces and I cut it to length on site. Have to admit it went through my head as I held the chainsaw that I am prepared if any zombies pop up.

Nothing wrong with getting wood like that. I even tore down a building in one of our local cemeteries just so I could get the galvanized roofing. Got some good lumber from it too.
