The muggy weather has moved in with possible damaging winds coming in later on. When I called my neighbor the other day who has a small fireplace outside, I ask her if she needed any Pine for it and she said yes so today I brought down two loads with the tractor.

She has helped out a bunch of neighbor's throughout the years including us so I'm hoping they can enjoy it. The first three pictures are the two loads and what I started with and the last is what I'll be stacking for shoulder season wood for the years 2021 & 2022. This years has been stacked for over a year.

Backwoods Savage , the 4540 broke the 1000 hour mark yesterday when I popped two smaller stumps from trees I cut a few years ago.

I cleaned both filters with some air, the inside filter hardly had any dirt with the outside filter being the dirtiest, I think I'll get a new one.

If we did it would be a tractor with a cab,A/C and heat for the winter but this tractor has never given us any problems.

If we can't get what we think is a fair deal then we could go a different route. The Rhino has over 7500 miles on it so maybe a new UTV with a cab,A/C,heat and a plow so if anything ever happened to me, the wife could still plow the driveway.

I see Polaris makes a nice unit and Kubota but I'm not sure if Mahindra makes a UTV with everything we want.

I'm not sure if you Backwoods Savage would consider this a threaded carriage bolt but over two years ago this fell out of my hand, I looked for around 30 minutes for it even using a small magnet just to make sure it wasn't in the fan area but I didn't find it so I bought some extras. Yesterday was was checking underneath the 4540 in this area when I found it. :hair:

      Isn't it amazing when that happens? I'll bet it has happened to many of us; maybe not the exact same thing but very similar. Shoot, one day I hunted for 2 hours for my keys. Suddenly I found them right in my hand...

Our first thing we'll do is price out some new UTV's, we were thinking about something with heat and A/C with a plow package. We'll look at Kubota,Polaris,Yamaha,Mahindra and John Deere.

Will do, we've only emailed two places and heard back from one but we were out in the boat so we'll call them tomorrow.

The limbing up I did yesterday is gone to a wood dump, we had a little over three loads that filled the utility trailer.

When I came back, I decided it was time I washed and waxed the Rhino and the tractor. What I washed and waxed on the tractor was the hood and the fenders.

Hopefully tomorrow, I pull three or four stumps with the 4540 that are all different sizes and then fill the holes back in with sand. That will give us a new trail down near the propane tank.

My plan was to remove four stumps but one is near a nice Maple tree so I'll zip that off closer to the ground, the first two were smaller and the third stump I zipped off the top some so I could plant it right back where it came from.

This will give us a small trail in that area for walking or running the four wheeler on it.

I adjusted the brakes on the 4540 today and I cleaned the battery post off. Our plow we use on the 4540 started to show some rust in a certain area so I took a wire brush on a drill and cleaned up both sides. I took some paint thinner and cleaned the areas off good which I'll start painting tomorrow with Por - 15, I'll give this side two coats and then do the same on the other side which will make it ready for snow.

I do think we'll need a new battery before winter.

I had to chit can the Por-15 and use the Rustoleum paint for metal I bought a few years ago so the first coat is on that side. It's pretty muggy so I don't think that I'll get a second coat on today but will check it after supper.

The Por-15 top was sealed tight even though I had put down some wax paper underneath the cover before sealing, the Por inside the can was good but I didn't want to make a mess pouring out the paint from some very small holes I made, there wasn't much left so it wasn't a big loss.

Backwoods Savage , the site finally accepted my password after a few days of trying. Still not a secure site but I understand they're working on it.

I had a bunch of dead pine branches in this area so I started the cleanup around the trails before going after 10 face cord of Ash after the leaves fall. I took three utility trailer loads to the town wood dump.

In this area that I cleaned up today are for Ash trees, nothing big but once the leaves come off they'll come down.
