i run the tsumura lite weight bars on all my saws. i find they do balance better and im less fatigued at the end of a long day cutting. just weighed a spare 20" that i have and its half pound lighter than a laminated 20" forester bar. i would say the longer you go the more weight savings

edit: if you run one, you'll end up buying them for all your saws.

That's crappy for him, he invested a lot into that place.

I hope he's hanging in there.

If you know Nate then you know he’s a survivor. One of the problems was how much inventory he had so the new shop won’t have as an extensive inventory.

My 461 wears a 28” Sugi bar and it does balance better.

I picked up a 462 w Stihl 28” ultralight bar once at balanced at the loop handle! But the owner said it was a bit too fragile of a bar. I think the Total/Tsumura and Sugi are the right trade off of strength and weight.

I looked at them but it doesn't look like they offer the light bars in .050". I buy stihl 33rm by the reel in. 050" so I don't want to add to the confusion. It's bad enough that the 2 saws i most use are different by 2 drivers.

Funny name for something so medieval looking. Mine while bucking let the saw hit the wood. Thanks for the info !

    Your welcome...:handshake:...
That's why I got them for the 362. Helps keep it square also. I did have to shorten them twice. Had too much leverage on that saw. That was huskihl suggestion. Worked well. Hope to get some man glitter on the 461 soon.

    3/8 .063 36" Sugihara light weighs 2150 grams and costs $189.95 shipped (I think)
3/8 .063 36" Cannon DuraLite weighs 1831 grams and costs $280.00 plus shipping

Not sure about the Stihl Light bars. I am done with Stihl bars because they are laminated and the rails spread over time. Cannon and Sugihara are milled and last much longer.

I suppose some of this is due to slightly less popularity, but I’ve never heard of a Cannon, Tsu, or Sugi bar that needed any rail work.

    461....

I picked up a set of these for full-time use on a tree service saw in Montana. No complaints so far, and about half the size of the pro safeties. Made in USA also
