Too bad he doesn't have room there so you can stage some on his property where it would be out of the way.
More of that black birch. Very nice. I hope Dave was satisfied with accomplishments while he was up here.
This is one we built the other day. Its for kids to to play with mud. Apparently they are huge in Europe, starting to gain traction here. My daughter loves hers.
Sweet! How long of a limb can you fit on top? If you can find nice straight limbs in the 4"ish range 5-6' long, I'll pay you to bring some home!
I would, but its almost a 4 hour round trip from me just in drive time, and I just dont have that kind of time available these days between my day job, and helping my wife get her new business off the ground. If she can throw 4-6 of them on top of her loads every trip, I can make the 30 minute ride to her house, and help her with her fuel costs.
There are lots of saplings that are straight poles all the way up, beech and sugar maple. I can fit 8' poles in my car, no problem. Dave asked me to cut them down. How many do you want?
I'll take as many as you can bring back on top of your own loads. We use them for legs on some of the models we are making. People seem to LOVE the ones made out of pallets with these legs more than the ones made out of 100% lumber. Which is a bit of a PITA, because while I have much less in them for material costs, they take about twice as long to build.
sheesh! Totally understandable. If you see any good limbs with lichen, feel free to grab em. This was just red maple that Jen was stealing from my unprocessed wood pile.
Cedar would be ideal. But, none to be had. Not much limb wood, these are forest trees with narrow tops. But the trunks are wicked straight and knot-free.
Surprisingly, we used some soft maple limbs on Charlotte's about 3 years ago, and they are still doing quite well.
Another trip to Winchester... I thought this was beech, but it's sugar maple, that's fine too! Some poles for Mwalsh9152, more to come.
