My Wife would do something like that too, except if you look at my signature line(s), you would see that it would take someone afflicted with CAD to know what to get me, a 562XP, or something unobtainable like a NIB 346XP

We do things like that for each other on occasion too. I have been working out of town all week for the last 7 weeks, Wednesday of this week I found something that I knew she would like, so this morning she found this wrapped up with a card and balloons, when she went down for Coffee

She has a Hair Salon, she is currently remodeling during this nonsense. There has been a small group of protesters near her Salon, not enough to get Violent, yet any way, but I still don’t like seeing it

I get it, my wife gave up guessing about 40 saws ago. She knew I had my dealer get a price on it so she went to him.

At Least, I had a good idea of what she wanted, she has been trying to steal my Colt Mustang Pocketlite for a Loong time. I had gotten her a S&W Bodyguard .380, with the Crimson Trace laser sight, but she has always had trouble with the safety lever being too small and stiff for her to properly function, then the slide locked on it, and I haven't been able to get it to open, it has been needing to go to a gunsmith, and hasn't gotten there yet, but the safety lever will likely always be an issue for her, so I decided to find her a Pocketlite like mine, but right now, those are about as common and Popular, as a NIB 346XP, but the shop in Lincoln City, where I have been working, had this Kimber Micro .380, that appears to be a High Quality clone of the Mustang Pocketlite. She was THRILLED when she opened it.

Yep, the Wife has her OWN Guns AND Her OWN CHAINSAW, plus likes Fishing, Crabbing, Camping and Canoeing, I'm Keeping Her;)

Yep, I did, Now, if I could just hit the Powerball Lottery, we could spend more time together;)

But I not only got Lucky with the Wife, I scored a Win with her whole Family. I would be Proud to Claim all four of her Kids as my Own, I still after 11 years have her Mom Fooled, Sadly we lost her Father in December of 2017, but I couldn't have asked for a Better FIL, I Truly Enjoyed knowing him, and Wished that I could have met him sooner, and all 3 of her Sisters are like they are my own Sisters. We Lost her Oldest Sister's Husband to Lung Cancer in Sept, 2017 (Q4, 2017, was a Sad time for her Family)but I was very close to Woody for the 4 years that he and Bonnie were married, He taught us a LOT about Salmon Fishing, but sadly hadn't taught us yet what he knew about Halibut fishing, a wealth of knowledge was lost with him.

I met my Wife Late in life, I was 43, when we married, but I am Very Happy that we did finally meet, and we are trying to make the most of it.

'Round here using "THE WIFE" is dog whistle time Husky.
And that's whether or not THE WIFE has that arsenal ( BTW: better carry is a Glock 26, not S&W .380 ).

When i got mine new last Summer it came with a 20" bar. I didnt think id like it but does make a difference in the bending factor. I have swapped the 16" bar from my 290 onto it as well.
Ive bucked wood big enough to bury the bar and it has cut it.
I have the carb version not the Mtronic.
Great saw Chaz and i highly recommend it.

    Thanks buZZsaw BRAD
The 20" should be good then.

The trees on our property don't require the 20" bar, but I've already got two saws with 18" bars (Poulan 4218, Stihl 034AV)

I had the Poulan idling, then gunk got smoking hot on it, and it didn't want to run after that.

Cleaned it all out the next day, and it's running fine now. But I'm concerned some damage may still exist, and for the price point on them, a rebuild doesn't seem worth the time/cash. Aside from a pet project viewpoint.

The 034 had some plastics issues at the choke lever at the carb, I've got that fixed (for now at least).

But I hate to have to rely on compromised equipment, because as we all know, they will fail at the most inconvenient time.
    :headbang:

I really like both saws. Each has its place.

The Poulan is lighter, so running it longer has never been a problem.

The 034 has more power, so it cuts a bit faster, but more importantly, if I'm in a situation where a bore cut can be made, it has the power to make it happen.
    The Poulan doesn't.

    Neither saw owes me anything.

I've had the Poulan for around 21 years now. We burnt wood recreationally in the city, and for the past 8 years here for heat. It's earned its keep.

The 034 we got when Chazsbetterhalf had her name pulled in the lottery for Leadfarmer 's daughter. I hope she's doing much better.

If the 261 lives up to its reputation, it should be the last saw I ever need to purchase.

    Of course there's need's and then there's want's.

Fathers day is the excuse, but I wanted something to fit between the 880 and echo 8000's. Never personally counted them cuz that implies an addiction but was told there's 60 something in the back building at my shop. Probably another 20ish at home.

For us, the "Dog Whistle" is "Everything" as in "Do you have EVERYTHING", we're pretty careful about using that term, and quick to correct if we use it when we didn't mean the "OTHER" Meaning

As to the carry choice, I don't deny that Glock has an Excellent reputation, and don't fault anyone for choosing a Glock, but myself, I just don't care for them, plenty of other guns that I like better that are just as good. My personal carry choice is a Full size, 5" Barreled Para Ordnance C745 LDA, I Love the 1911 platform, and the LDA offers it with a DA trigger that you would swear is a SA, which is what LDA stands for "Light Double Action".

The .380's for me, are a back up, and for when a Full size 1911, just isn't practical to carry, the Colt Mustang Pocketlite is a great little gun, Nope, not what I WANT to be holding, if the Schitt hits the fan, but much better than an Empty hand. The Wife has a 2", 5 shot .38 revolver, but she doesn't care for the bulk of the cylinder, even with the 5 shot. She has been eyeing my Mustang for a long time, I got her the S&W .380 Bodyguard, with the Crimson Trace Laser Sight, but the slide is locked up, and she has always had trouble working the safety lever, so while I still need to get the bodyguard looked at, it isn't the right gun for her. I called around, and there weren't any Mustangs around to be had, and the Kimber is a Clone, and is well respected.

Just to clarify something for you. Any saw that has been used even once is compromised. So keep em coming.

Well I made it's first 3 cuts before I hit something in the log. So now it's time for it's first chain removal. Big time bummer.

FHC needs more “Like” emojis, the AS forums recently added some similar to what Facebook has.

I sure don’t want to “Like” this with a Smiley face :D, a tear in the eye :( is much more fitting

Yep definitely a Bummer Anytime, but the Third Cut with a New Saw, that just ain’t Right
