Nothing brown here! Has been cool at night, but the days are ok. Like the garden picks. I wasn't able to do much at all this year because of my knee issue. Just will have go use the farm stands. Not the worse thing to happen, but not what I was looking forward to doing. Not getting any younger. My grandad has a garden up until the year he died at age 88. He did the whole thing by hand always in the same spot that looked like fine gravel. He relied heavily on composting.
I think I made 60 pints of salsa last year. Garden is growing like crazy. Have some fist sized bell peppers. Cherry tomato plants are shoulder high and starting to ripen. Picking green beans and squash like its going out of style. Got my first okra last night.
Harvested some of our garlic tonight! Some decent sized heads. Not Bad considering this was the first I have tended them since we planted in October.
That pic of your guy pushin the tiller might be one of his favorites, as he gets older and understands that, not everyone is willing to work hard but most respect those who do...
T they both love to do what dad does. Luckily I found a planet jr frame and added a smaller wheel and handles for them.
damm. I have 4 beets and three carrots. After two attempts at getting some started I finally have some seedlings that might mature on my third try. and they are smothered in crushed egg shells in the hope that egg shells massacre slugs or whatever took out my previous starts. Plus some supposedly organic slug bait. Plus some in a pot just to prove the seed is good and I didn't forget how to plant and start seeds.
We got 7.5 inches of rain from the hurricane. I shouldn't have to water for a couple days. Just in time for this pumpkin I hope. and peaches, hope they don't rot and drop in the heat like last year a zebra zucchini, mixed in with the yellow zucchini Burpee seed must be 99.9% pure like ivory soap always ready for a surprise
Getting cucs & tomatoes from the GH Garden growing great. Great salads so far Blooms on the zucs, female so can't pollenate them. Broccoli soon
Ditto! My tomatoes are only about 15" tall except the cherry variety which is about 24". Have a lot of flowers and a few small maters. Zucchini, which I should be harvesting, are only 3"-4" long. Potatoes should be flowering by now; 12". Cukes are just starting to flower and climb the cattle panels. Gonna be a late harvest for everything this year.
Update on the rain. I may loose two more tomato plants if this weather doesn't dry up. The leaves are turning yellow. My Husky Cherry tomatoes are doing great. I was reading today that Huskies were bred for the PNW climate. Figures.
