I've worked with the Ditra stuff for tile floors, it is super convenient. Can't comment on the shower side.

That is what we used on our bathroom remodel back in 2009. No problems at all. I did have the work turn keyed cause I am not that handy with that kind of work.

Apparently, our builder had to go to a course and get certified. It seems pretty slick.

I'm guessing fancy tile spacers, of some sort.

My guess would be this also, but the white thing looks like the spacer and the blue looks like a sleeve...Looking at the one laying on the floor, it does not look like it has any tabs that would act as spacers.

Tile spacers, but they also have a piece to pull the tile up from the bottom as you turn the blue part on top. This makes sure they are all even with each other. I'd never seen them either, but now I can see how they would be quite handy for super flat tiles like marble or porcelain. Ours are porcelain.

Lower BR is almost finished. Lots of grab bars, bidet seat on toilet, heater on wall.

Thank you. We are very grateful to be able to help FIL like this. My wife is a pure angel.

BTW, even the "towel rack" above the heater in the bathroom is a full on hosptial grade grab bar bolted into 2-by stock behind the drywall. Wife is smart!
