What do I have here. They were mixed in with the maple rounds I scrounged.
I originally thought I was dealing with mulberry. I saw the land owner yesterday and she said she had no trees that put out berries. Told her they would look like blackberries.
Thera is a very very slight order that I can barely detect. I would say it smelled a little sweet. Is heavy and stringy when split.
Locus crossed my mind but I don't recall it being stringy.

Yup, starts out almost neon yellow, ends up brownish red.
Tulip poplar is kinda similar with that color change too.

Thanks, all. I have some (1/8 cord maybe?) from 1.5 years ago...looking forward to burning it in the winter of 2022. I tried to burn one log after 1.5 years CSS and it was soaking wet!
