I sure wish I had some sugar maple to cut! I bet that sure has some good heat and burn time.

One of my favorites. Ill take a cookie, leave it on the deck in the hot sun for a week or two and what an amazing burn in the firepit. No sizzle, consistent flame. Straight grained is key for me hand splitting. Very common yard tree here and knots/gnarl/crotches are the norm.

Got a text from a friend that his brother was clearing off a lot to build a house. Some oak and lot of hickory. Got 1 trailer load yesterday evening. He has more in a windrow that we will have to pull out. 7x12 trailer, nearly all the logs are 10'6"... 0604202036_HDR.jpg

Thats a real nice load! I like the smaller rounds personally and so does my back. What is your preference?

Solid logs, straight with few knots...lol
If my hunny is running the splitter, I like that size there. If I'm around to help, I like bigger rounds, makes way more splits.

I've got one of those trailers that I've abused, destroyed, patched, and welded back together for 25 years...  I have lots more toys now and I don't use it as much but it still gets used on occasion. Nice tractor.

    Why thank ya
I think I’ve got it pinned down to a 1970, but hard to tell in my neck of the woods since lots of people still running them. You know how it goes this one blew the engine that one blew the rear let’s take 3 and make one. My 127 has a 14hp setup for pulling due to the original 12 being “overused at the pulling track”.

Buzzsaw I’d say that one buggy load should be roughly 4 days depending on how much block wood I burn.
