    We got a cloudburst too, the wind was whipping for a couple of minutes. Another round on the radar, about 8:30P.

    The wind was so strong I couldn't put the bimini top down. In high wind it's a sail, and makes docking impossible. As soon as I got close a neighbor was in the water the grab the front, I went off the side to help push it in, and two others were helping too. Not sure if they were in the water.

    Carrots indeed will germinate at a much cooler temperature. That is why you plant them early.

    You mention 52, that is when it is time to plant corn.

    I was bored this afternoon watching my brisket cook. So was looking at this app Nextdoor... that suppose to keep neighbors in touch with each other on different topics. I’m mainly watching it for the safety issues.. well in it was a whole discussion about rodent poisoning... then I saw this person’s post... :cool: ....

    Gotta go out and water a couple of the gardens because the storms are going around me apparently.

    tree killer very sorry for the losses in your family.

    A heck of a lot of loss to process so quickly.
    :confused:

    In 2011 my mother died (January), then we had to put down our last dog (April), then my dad died in October.

    I shut down at that point.
    :tears:

    Couldn't deal with that year... not sure I'm fully past it yet.

    Thanks Dennis. I couldn't grow corn here any year. I use to grow silver queen every year when I lived in South Carolina. we have about 27 frost free days a year on average here. Most of the seeds we plant are for zone 3. thirty miles down the valley you can on occasion grow some corn types. Don't know which. I sure miss having a well producing garden.

    It's say that people that have more garbage on their lots will have more issues with rodents than people that have wood stacks

    Chaz, it takes time for our minds to process the grief. It does get better with time. Today is 36 years since I lost my dad. Fortunately there are lots of good memories To hold on to.

    tree killer , really sorry to hear that. My prayers have been sent- Erik B , you also but you know that.

    Just got my '83 K-30 started after 10+ months of sitting idle. What a smoke show. Guess the valve seats had dried out a bit...heh, heh.
    Purring like a big block kitten right now. Not even on fire, so that's good.

    :yes:

    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    Very true.

    It isn't as bad now.. still miss my parents.. and "talk" to them often.

    But the morning after my dad died.. I plunged to the bottom of a Bourbon bottle just after waking.
    :confused::confused::confused::confused:

    I'm a drinker.. and not ashamed of it.. but not like that.
