Helping a good friend prep his new building lot. Many trees need to come out. He cut a bunch himself, & now I'm up for the tougher ones. I hauled out what he's cut so far. Going back tomorrow to continue. Some of the logs decked on the lot. Sorry, pics out of order, but you get the idea.
12" to 20" goes the fastest. I seem to get a lot of 36" stuff & man is it a fight due to weight. Someday I know I'm gonna find the enchanted telephone pole forest.
New house, nice ranch. They're downsizing & simplifying. He's giving up wood heat though, I think He's gonna regret that.
Time will tell! Get a few cold nights in the new house and he probably won’t know what to do with himself
Nice job, amateur cutter . We have worked 2 different sites last week. Got 5 loads hauled as well. Some bigger logs from a tornado clean-up and some smaller oak and hickory from a house building site. Got a few more loads to get from there
I've always known the storage area for logs waiting for hauling or processing as a log deck. Some call it a landing. Simply means stacked & ready for cutting.

Been out a couple nights playing with this small decked pile cutter and it sucks. Constantly getting tripped up with the blocks so have to put saw down every couple minutes just to move them. Pretty sure the big stuff you got would be better?
The 3-4 times ive cut from a log deck that was my experience as well. A couple i was able to split right there but still a PITA to keep moving rounds.
Here ya go Dennis. Just got back. Dropped maybe 20 more. Here's Pallet Pete notching a good sized poplar with my 036XS. His Echo died. This pic is pretty good shot of the opening we made. Skidder rigged to pull against the lean. Only about 10 trees to go.
