Well I never thought I would buy a G42 but while at the gun store picking up raccoon traps (a whole other story) my wife fell in love with it. She was yacking about it while I was checking out and I wasn't paying any attention...... on the way home I got an earful about how she wanted the 42 and I was ignoring her so I went back the next day and purchased it for her. What can I say if she is going to ask for guns I will probably buy them So far I have 500 rounds of 4 different types of ammo through it with 4 different shooters and not one single hiccup. This thing is accurate and EASY to shoot. So far we both love it.
I'm in a hospital with my mom killing some time on FHC. Of course the network I'm using here won't let me look at gun anything so I couldn't look the G42 up. Is it a compact? How many rounds? $$?
It is the new compact single stack .380. It holds 7 rounds and was $470 bu the gun shop was running a $100 dollars back on any purchases over $500. So I bought some ammo and was able to get the gun for $370.
I'd almost say I'm interested in looking at the same model but .380 ammo is rare in Mass and when it does come around it's like $25.00/50. Target ammo for 9mm is around $15.00/50. My son is looking at the Gen 4 9mm compact, not sure of the model #. But big bucks compared to the sig or S&W (M&P) compacts. Great reviews but the money is scaring me right now. No matter, a well taken care of gun is an investment.
oslo remember that we cant buy glocks in mass. unless you do a private sale and fa10 form they are not mass compliant . i hate this state
If that is true I might have the pull the law enforcement card on this one. I'm almost sure glocks are not completely banned, maybe some of them. Gotta check on that one.
oslo they are available to le folks but i think you need agrncy approval there is a shop in woburn that often has used ones ( i think they are pd trade ins) but they are older models and they are not cheap because not many are available . to be sold to mass residents handguns need to be mass compliant on the atty generals approved list or have been registered in the state before 10-21 98 so that limits the brands we can buy there are no springfield glock colt taurus and many others that are approved . it is foolish but typical mass as i said i hate this state
It is a bit bigger than the LCP........ I'm not sure I would wan to pocket carry it even though you probably could. If you want to see a side by side comparison I can do one with an LCP and the G42. Also check out Hickok45 on youtube and I'm pretty sure he compares the two. He is awesome to watch!!
Nice! I took a serious look at those but already had a used Bersa Thunder .380 on layaway. I just picked it up this morning. They also gave me a decent deal on a box of 1000 Federal .223 for $339. I traded in my KekTec p3at .380 recently on a folding KelTec SU16B 5.56 carbine and needed some ammo to play with.
Very Nice, I have never had any issues with our Bersa Thunder. If you had lived closer I would have made you a heck of a deal on one!
Certified. How is the trigger pull? I have a Walther PPKs and the wife is not happy with the heavy SA pull.
The first trigger pull is Double action unless you pull the hammer back with your thumb and it is a longish and fairly hard pull (10+ lbs). After that the single action is really smooth, pretty easy, and doesn't have much creep.
I'm sorely tempted to pick up a Bersa Thunder .22lr to go along with my Bersa Thunder .380. I had not known they made a Thunder in .22 until today. I was looking for something in .22 to plink with at my local shop and they had one in stock. It might be fun having one in each caliber. From what I've read the Thunder 22 is also a well regarded pistol.
