It's the same size box as the Endeavor, and we heat 1600 sq ft, no problem. You'll get 8-10 hour burns with plenty of coals for a restart, once you get it all dialed in.
The blower is noisy, but it spreads that heat two rooms over. It'll drop the stove temps quite a bit if you overfire.
If I remember right the Endeavor has a by pass I am getting good burn times (usable heat )in this mild weather burning pine ,soft maple and poplar, half full box
Yes, I have the bypass. On the Republic, you just crack the door for a second or two and you won't get any smoke coming into the room. The bypass is nice on start ups, though, and for cleaning the flue with the Sooteater.
I had that same Fireview stove 20 years ago in my garage... Picked it up for 50 dollars.. a coat of paint and a new blower from Graingers, and it was one heck of a heater.. I'll bet the guy who bought our home still has it .. Was a great heater for my garage... If it was bitter cold out the garage would be warm in like 30 minutes.. That blower really kicked out the heat.. Never thought I would see one again. I remember you posting about it a while back. Your new stove is sweet! Your going to love that! Enjoy it!
That's pretty cool U had one It was in my house when I got it 21 years ago, I had never seen another one ,so I was surprised the people that bought mine had one already. I know already I will burn less wood with the Lopi
Only thing I did with my Fireview was put some firebrick in the bottom.. Strange how much heat that stove could put out... Held quite a bit of wood too... Always made sure I kept it turned down on a full load as that thing could become a freight train of heat if you needed it... The blower really moved the heat around nice , mine had a variable speed controller added ..so you can adjust the fan speed..
Mine had a variable speed controller also, and fire brick, they did came with fire brick in the bottom. I left the damper way open one time ,that was a freaky deal that night, it was one hot SOB Edit , that stove had virtually no maintenance
Yep, I am liking this stove more n more all the time, It isn't real cold but, 12 hours on a 3/4 load and no need to reload yet
hours I'm happy , filled it almost full with ash last night ,after 9 hours I had 200 on the stove top, went down to 33 last night
HDR, I've seen 2 of those on Craigslist in the past few days. Someone has a cloning machine. How well can you control the temp with your stove? How long will it hold, say, 500 degress?
