What is the drying time on American elm anyway? And yes, I don't like elm but it is hard to resist when it's about 4 blocks from home.

Usually 1 year in my experience but I go 2 if possible. It burns far better at 2 years !

It's possible, we are about to start into our fourth and final cord slated for next year's shoulder and still have a few maples to bring down. And a cherry. How long on the cherry?

Cherry is fast also. I am burning some from last winter and its bone dry already. It is a really good one and puts on a nice color show too.

Great, hopefully I will get enough from the cherry and maples to make that last 1.1 or so cord. A lot of the maple will go to Dad (two are his) and I'm not sure if my brother wants any.
