Shoot, I don't hunt when it is in the 80's. What would I do down there? Roast, I guess.

Same with my pallets, they did a great job putting more lumber on the pallets so its stiff but excess wood if I know. Thought about filling the spaces but might need to cut some lengthwise. Sure are thick!:jaw:

Luckily, our gun season come 3rd week in October. Hope it cools off by then. So dry, can't even plant food plots yet.

Keep an eye out for thick split rail fencing being torn out - I grabbed a few truckloads with the intent of cutting and burning, but only burned a few as they make great building logs, stacking rails, stickers for sawing on, etc.

I gather you have a lot of farmland that’ll often be the reason why they take it out? Since they use red cedar here for those, it’s long lasting. But when you find it, is it oak or something else?

Lot of farmland yes, but for me it's because I have a neighbor on the south side of the house and he happened to work for a fence company. :) All cedar poles and rails, Eastern Red I'd imagine. If you look at the distribution map, I live in the tiny little slice of MA where it doesn't grow, but it's all around us so quite plentiful for fencing.

Not any around here anymore, with all the mining and clear-cutting that goes on.

I guess I will do the shed build here as well, not start another thread. So here goes...
Got the spot for the shed picked out and old logs, poles and scrape blades moved. Still have to clean up bark and leaves down to dirt. IMG_20190927_085619737.jpg I'm not a super scrounger, so we went to building supply store. My hunny wasn't too happy, but I build stuff heavy duty and want it to last. IMG_20190927_135601782_HDR.jpg
I got 4x8x16 cap block to go on the ground. 5 4x4x16 to go under pallets since the runners aren't treated, 4x4x12 posts for sides and back, 2x6x16 and 2x2x12 boards to hang wall pallets on. I have the 48x48 pallets, some 2x6x12 decking boards and the metal roof. She thinks I'm crazy... probably so...oh well, life is what you make it.

Did a little more on the shed area. Took a nice size limb down that would be over the roof. First thing I saw when I got to the limb. Glad the previous owner had moved on... IMG_20190930_085949379.jpg
Got to use my hunny's MS 180. Did a great job. First few pieces were junk. 9770.jpeg 9781.jpeg Started getting better here 9779.jpeg
Can the little saw handle the big part? Why yes, I think it can. 9755.jpeg 9778.jpeg IMG_20191001_010335.jpg
Got a few solid chunks down to go in the new shed...not a Scotty Overkill or Barcroftb caliber takedown, but it worked. Hope to start on shed build soon.

Gotta love the 180, it's so light it's perfect for an awkward job like that. Plenty of power too.

As long as tractors, yard equipment, and wood can go in the she shed, that's fine.:thumbs:

How many hoes can fit in a she shed?
