Blending pellets offers great taste. I blend apple and cherry for bacon and it’s a crowd favorite. Hickory and apple is also a good mix if some people don’t like the full hickory flavor.

Yeah Jeff, pork butt is cheap for your first long smoke, and I believe impossible to screw up, in fact anything out of the smoker is really hard to ruin, just some (smokes) are better than others
Jeff one of the best thing I read or was told about PB's is that if the bone will twist/pull out, It's done. You're going to have pork running out of your ears.
