Brief spits here turned into a steady rain. Had hoped it would hold off as i wanted to go hoarding of course. It stopped so i decided to split some wood i have here at the house. Remnants from a couple Jan/Feb scores.
(for those FHC members who dont know, i have three areas where i process/store wood. At the house we rent, my landlords property next door, and a friends about ten minutes away)
Split most (small ash, sassafras, maple rounds) then a good shower came through. I was almost done so kept going. Rain stopped and i stacked what i split. Split a bunch of shorties/nuggets as well.

Forgot about the pine i scrounged for metalcuttr . Splits a lot easier six months seasoned. Dunno if it'll be firepit fodder or kindling. IMG_2570.JPG

Been down that road before. I hate starting in the rain but once I get going I hate to quit because of a shower. After I retired I find myself outside in a downpour with rain gear on a lot less often than I used to do.

Yep, we skidded logs for the better part of the day yesterday. About 1/2 the time in a steady drizzle. Gotta get done, but it wasn't pleasant.
