Great idea with swingset. People always getting rid of them as the kids outgrow them.

I don't think that could even be called splitting. Looks more like smashing or beating into submission.

Looks like a few meatballs would go well with that.

That would be really pretty carved into something like a spoon.

Re-purposing the old swing set............I love it!

Like you, I've been stacking my split wood on pallets for over 35 years then cover the top of the pile with a tarp leaving the sides open to dry....That's my story and I'm sticking with it!

Out for another load this morning. I think that will be it until after summer now as it’s starting to heat up and dry out now.

It almost looks like some of this Elm I had a couple years ago. Winged. Didn’t split like others. More like Chunked out. Like you cut a rock apart.

Got out again today for another load. Had to move a couple of times to get a load but it was nice wood on a beautiful cool autumn day with the sun out, just the way I like it.

A couple slabs of that would look great as serving trays. Is it hard enough to use as a cutting board?

Oh yes indeed, Yellow Box is one of the hardest timber’s that I have encountered.

Took the kids out today to cut a load and to clean up a lot of tops and sticks lying around. It was great to get them outside for the day and they really enjoyed it
