I was 5 in '76. Anything bicentennial-themed reminds me of two things: my dad's habit of collecting bicentennial quarters, and the bicentennial-themed wallpaper that persisted in my parents' bathroom for at least 20 years. I guess the occasion was used to sell special editions of almost anything.

damm I feel old....I was 13 in '76.Best times of my life back then growing up.We could go anywhere,do anything without any bothersome nanny state rules & regulations.Parents just said 'Be careful, have fun,be home at meal time or before dark....'

    Just pure freedom.

I had one of those saws in a case and gave it to a member of another forum at the Poulan GTG 2 years ago. It was not in nearly as nice of shape as that one. There was one for sale on the local CL last winter that was advertised as a Homelite.

As for the bicentennial, let's just say that I was of voting and drinking age and had already owned 4 Studebakers.

I wasn't even thought of at that time, unless it was in the time frame of December of '76. Then I might have been a twinkle in my Dads eye....

76 was 5 years BD (Before Dex) ;)

That is a very nice saw. I would love one for my Man cave, but not at that price.
