And if so, how long have you had it? Any problems? Would you buy one again? I've done some video watching and looked at reviews, and they seem to be favorable. It's had to argue with the price, and it' looks like OEM parts will work on them.

At just over $300, the G660 (ms660 clone) might be worth a try.

    What you guys think???

I'd buy one if I needed a 90cc saw. Hard to find a big non-runner at a decent price to rebuild. I've used plenty of "FarmerTec" topends and been generally pleased. Hutzl uses the FarmerTec name but in Chinese I think it means "generic cloned saw parts".

I'd try it for the price they want for one. replace some parts with OEM and run it till it dies. Than rebuild with OEM.
If I need to ever replace my 288 I think I'd go that route.

A good friend bought a 660 clone. It took 3 weeks to show up at his door. For ten days he didn't have a tracking number. I gave him a 28 inch windsor bar that I had laying around. Took a 92 drivelinks chain instead of 91 like I thought. I guess because of aftermarket bar instead of oem. We fueled the blue beast up and it fired on the fifth pull. Seem to run and cut great, meebe a little fat on top but that's ok it's new. My only concern was the oiler seems like it's not putting out enough., Even adjusted to max setting. I turned it down to halfway and it didn't work at all.

Interesting. I'm thinking of getting one. I still have a bunch of large logs to cut. Been using my 372xpw. Didn't think I would ever need a bigger saw than that, but finding out that it would be nice to have more power. Cant justify a grand or more for a new larger saw.

Well I pulled the trigger on a G660. It and a bunch of other stuff sat in the cart for a few day, but after watching a bunch of videos, and reading reviews, I bought one. Man, I hope it works out.

I tell you, you can get a lot of stuff for $400 from Hutzl. I got the saw, 28: bar and chain, 3 more chains, 3 screnches, 2 carb adjusting screwdrivers. And for the 372, a new air cleaner cover, chain roller catcher, coil, 3 fuel filters, and a couple of bar nuts. $423 and change shipped. Did I just waste $400? We shall find out!

I recently bought one of their 200T complete overhaul kits, going to order some Caber rings and OEM circlips for the piston pin and slap it together.....

Figured I'll give it an honest test and see what she can do. For 287 clams shipped, it's a far bit cheaper than trying to find and actually buy a really nice actual 200T.

And if I drop this one out of a tree, I'm only out 287 bucks....

Now to get those mentioned parts and do some minor port work and muffler modding.

Sounds like a plan. Let us know how it works out. Either start your own thread, or your welcome to post it here!

I built a chi-knees 660 (farmertec) a few years back and it has been fine...I don't use it much, hence the reason I could not justify spending a lot of money on a big bore saw...but I have been happy with it...it wears a 32" bar with full chisel chain.
The only failures have been the starter rope (base gasket delete...so it pulls over hard) and the chain adjustment mechanism/gears (pretty common)

A friend of mine bought one for cutting spear holes in ice. It is dedicated for darkhouse spearing, so no bar oil or wood cutting. I was out with him the day he first fired it up on the lake. We cut three holes in near 30" of solid ice. It started and ran great. We have no long term experience yet with it, but a bunch of the darkhouse guys here are using them regularly with good results.

Any word bigfrank? I've been looking at the g660 also. With sweden, and Germany becoming muslim, I figure it might be good to look to other sources.

I was told it takes about two weeks to receive the order Montana

Well the G660 showed up today. First thing I noticed is that the packing looked much better than some of the unboxing videos I have see. I had ordered a bunch of small parts, including chains and parts for my 372xpw, and they put them in the box with the saw. Not a problem, but I did pay what I consider a bunch of money for shipping (about $63.00) and the powerhead was supposed to be free shipping. The bar did come packed in a separate package.

I have also read that just about every person that bought one said the handlebar was bent. Really don't think they are bent, just not made to fit right out of the box. I also read that Huztl was bad about not shipping all the parts and people having to deal with them. I can say everything was there, including all the small extra stuff I ordered, so that was good.

Got it gassed and oiled up and it popped on the 5th pull. 4 or 5 more pull and it fired and idled. Ran it for awhile and checked the carb setting with the tach. The idle was a bit low, and the high was set to run at 11,500ish. I'll leave it there until I get a gallon of fuel through it then bump it to about 12,500. I don't like to run any of my saws at max rpm. Saw pulls hard, even as fat as it running. Can't imagine the power it will have after it's broke in and tuned. We'll see how the longevity is with it.

A couple of things I don't like about it. The control switch feels really cheaply made, as well as the trigger and operator present switch. Not too worried about the last two, but I can see the control switch not lasting if it were to get banged hard.

Here are a couple of pics.

Did it come assembled? Didn't think they did.

I went thru the shopping cart exercise with some of their stuff before, but then bailed. I came to the conclusion that they were making a bit of money off their shipping charges. I forget what it was, but think it was more than you mentioned, getting it to this country anyway.

This one, the G660 come assembled. Paid $310. With free shipping for the powerhead. The other parts that I ordered is where I had to pay the shipping on. You can buy the 660 in kit form, and it's less expensive, and it comes in the Stihl colors.

Shipping is always high for China. But I think the guys got a little. Still, the parts are reasonablely priced and will get you by.
