O man this sucks! I've been at it since 7:30 this morning ripping cutting tearing everything out that I can. I want to burn it but with one of the wood piles being so close it won't get burned.... I'm gonna have to hook tow straps around all the larger old vines and literally pull them out and off the tree... ( MAYBE ) what a mess. This is because some jerk dumped a truck bed load of trash and furniture in the ditch last week. The vines grow so fast they literally took over before I could get to it. This is what needs to go still about 15'*40' of vines and weeds I'm gonna get about three small walnuts out of this though as they need to be removed due to stunted growth and growing at a bad angle too. O ya there's a couple leaners on the neighbors side I'm gonna take too that are tipped but leaning on the live trees. Nice n dry with no rot! Here is what I've cleared from about 7:30 to 9:45. It's break time now!
Looks like a big mess Pete. Man it is hot out there too so not a good thing to have to be doing. I worked up some ground and plan on riding my bike this afternoon.
Any names or clues in the trash as to who owns it. Sometimes they aren't bright enough to have removed incriminating material. Have you considered moving? Someone broke into your garage. A kid stole a drill off your lawn, now someone is dumping their trash on you. Move out and into the woods. The only things taking your stuff there have 4 legs. I live at the end of a dead end road. Most people don't have a clue this place is here. I can't tolerate crowds so this is a good place for me.
It was actually just spewed across the ditch in piles there is 5 or 6 more piles within about 2 miles if you walk down the tracks.. Despite all our issues things have been improving a lot. The two homes next to us FINALLY sold to very nice people so no more crappy drug headed renters to deal with right next door. The other home next to us is still a rental but they have good renters and aren't stupid about who they rent to... I think it's finally turning around from the GM disaster. When they closed 1/4 or more of the town went into foreclosure over night and left town for good. Things are slowly picking up again in town. It's a real shame! We would love to move but the values in our state have just completely vanished and despite what others may say they are not getting better... In fact in town they have gotten much worse. The homes that do sell are selling at a huge loss just to move them off the market. It's a good deal for the buyer but not the seller. Sorry I don't mean to get political I'm just explaining. Please no debates over this guys...........
Yes it's too hot now I'm stopping for the day I'll probably go at it in the morning if it's not raining. It's almost cleared out but that last bit can wait. I used 1/4 tank of gas just pulling vines out of the trees with a tow strap today. They are bad! Are you riding indoors or outdoors Dennis?
Glad your getting er done. Just becareful handling that stuff. No hidden dangers are stuffed in them.
That is the other reason I hate driving in our small yard plus this winter I need to be able to access the back of the stacks so I can keep the rotation going. Also the kindling needs to go we don't use it very often so it's in need of removal and this will make it far easier to do that! Lots of pluses once the hard part is over. If it cools off tonight I'll be back at it but the humidity is insane right now so most likely it will wait till next weekend. I going to spray pro strength weed killer on what I have done today though to keep it dead and down.
We're in for a hot humid week, maybe a cold front coming this way by or before the end of the week, just in time for July 4.
Zap my plants need the water bad! Aside from the humidity it really isn't bad out. I'm thinking about a large dehumidifier to see how that works in the house vs AC. Maybe it will be cheaper or at the very least I won't need to leave it in an unlocked window.
People that dump trash on the side of the road are jerks, They do that crap here. Makes everything look bad. What's bad is there's a dump right down the road. Those vines are tough to get out. roundup them suckers.
