My best bud is comin' ovah today with his honey. All these stories about bad shoulders sure was timely. My buddy fell on the ice (like so many of us last winter) and wasn't so lucky. He pulled muscles and tendons away from his right shoulder so bad that surgery can't repair it. He just went to a second opinion surgeon Thursday. No go. He can lift his arm up to elbow height, that's it. Just won't go any further cause there's nothing there anymore to pull it up. He's amazing, spirits are up and he's dealing. He's the guy I've mentioned about his yacht building job. Luckily, his boss knows what an asset he is and is making whatever has to happen... happen, so he can do his work. He oversees other joiners on their projects as well as his own. Very talented guy. He and I will prolly sit out in my shop spot today and solve all of the world's problems... ;)while the girls catch up. Can't wait til they get here. Love this man like my brother... :)

Been mowing grass. Man it seems like a waste of time to me. Anyone got any advice to make it more enjoyable? On the plus side a neighbor stopped by yesterday and offered me a bunch of cut oak. Went down this morning to take a peek at it. Definitely a couple cords. Plus I bought a scraper blade from him.

Headphones with your favorite station on. I do grounds maintenance for a high school and we have over 150acres of grass. The music makes the hours of mowing alot more enjoyable

Today i cut and hauled a couple big white oaks with dad. Then i decided to take my enduro for a ride in the state forest. Got a mile from the house and broke the master link got the chain locked up in the case saver. That ended my trip verrrry quickly

Weeded and tilled 3500 sq ft of garden. Mowed 3 acre yard. Put up crown moulding on the kitchen cabinets. Guess which one took the longest.

    Currently :drunk:

Which one did you like doing best? For me, it would have been the crown moulding. Once I got my air nailers, I am anxious to do wood work. Very rewarding.

    Jet,

I have a lot of grass to mow. And I am adding to it. I also have plans to add a little more here and there a little at a time over the next few years. Some will be walking trail grass, some will be trimming back areas of brush and branches near camp to help keep down on the bugs. I am considering saving some money for a while by taking some overtime/side jobs when I can get it and eventually trading in my mower on a larger one. I enjoy mowing grass for some reason. I think it is just because it is relaxing to me. I have found that if I break up the mowing in segments, so I am not sitting so long at one time, it gives the body a change. I will mow for an hour or so, then do some weed wacking for an hour. Then back to mowing, or I might wait until much later in the day, or the next day. I mow and trim at the house, and mow and trim at the camp at different days of the week.

You could do some adjustments to your mower to make it a little more exciting. Or you could hire it done. Please see below.

I wonder how Stinny is doing
Just some splitting today, I'll be under some big old White Pine so it should be ok, coffee taste great this morning.

I'll be splitting a chit load of Ironwood, some of it is from the winter or early spring.

August will be my month for kicking back, they're calling for a hot August.

Stinny's doin gud... ;) Had a good visit with my buddy (and his bride) yesterday. Hated to see him go. Wish they lived closer (2.5 hrs). He and I sat out in the fairly cool shop with a fan blowing on us... temps here were around 80... :zip: He mentioned that his boss has been so good about arranging things at work so he can get it done, it almost brings him to tears. Course, that almost had the same effect on me. We all have our crosses to bear I know. And he is, once again, a constant inspiration. Seems like there's a lot of that going around... :MM:

Go get em Woods. Always enjoy checking out your pics... and reading about them.
