My Dad has a really mini Kubota Excavator . It works great on the smaller ones..but is too rough on the bigger ones...especially since its not mine Thats why I leave the stumps up like that....makes for a great leverage handle ! I have found the stump grinder works great . It doesnt leave "as big" of a sink hole to keep adding dirt to for the next 2 years Plus.....no big stump holes or stump piles hanging around....although I have quite a big pile now..that when Im old and grey...I will burn !! Its comforting to know Ill always have something to do !! PS...Love the mini excavators !!!
We had a 008 Kubota Mini when I worked for a construction equipment dealer. You could drive it through your front door, hang a left in the living room, and drive right down the steps to dig in the basement if you wanted.... I remember the rental mechanic being a rather large dude, (Think 6'6" 300lbs), could hardly see the machine under him when he was moving it around.
LOL...Thats awesome !!!!!!!!!!! My dads is the next size up I think . KX041 I think . You can retract the tracks in to get into narrow places . Take the cab off and sneak under decks . Its sooo handy . .And the engine is like 17 hp . But with my Dad running it..you would never know it . He can do more at 1/4 throttle than I could do at full throttle on a bigger machine ! Im always amazed at what it can do with my Dad at the controls !!
Ok, if you have a stump grinder, I don't get what the question is then? You are asking what to use to remove stumps... use the grinder! Or I see a Bobcat in your picture. If it's a decent sized one (75+hp high flow). They rent forestry mulchers for them that work well.
No question on what to use to remove the stumps with........the question is what saw I should get to cut the stumps off at ground level . The skid in the pic is an older New Holland 885 Super Boom . A very nice machine.....a nasty little bulldozer when the steel tracks get put on over the tires That mulcher attachment is sweet !! Put that on my Christmas list !!!

In great mechanical/cosmetic condition they generally run between $450-700,depending on age,if any new parts are needed, what length bar/chain is included, full wrap handle or no,etc etc.
The first saw looks to be in a little better shape to me. A new HD top cover is crazy expensive, and the decals are NLA. My guess is both will go at close to $500!
I lucked out 3 years ago when getting some new parts for my 288XPW. Found a website in Florida I think (forgot the name now) - they had the complete kit - High top cover, the high performance pleated filter, the intake boot/muffler clamp all for $73 including postage. That part number of the ''set'' is NLA at my local Husq dealers, online most places seem to want $40-50+ for the cover alone, plus another $35+ for the filter. Insane.......
Then get a 28" Stihl ES Light bar or a Husqvarna Tech-Lite. Long reach and lighter than a standard 20" bar.
Just looked again, the first saw is a 1991 second does not show the tag. I also noticed that neither saw has a decomp valve...............so, you had better eat your Wheaties! Mine takes a big pull to get it going!
Lots of places seem to have the HD filter kit for around $80. Those saws are still being sold in other parts of the world so I would think parts aren't going to dry up like with the 2100.
