Today It Was Hick And Hack

I'm still helping the neighbor clear for his new carport.

I took down 2 more hackberry and one red hickory, well it's hickory anyway, not sure about the red part.

I haven't had hickory in my stacks for almost 10 years. There should be enough for January and Feburary in about 4 years.


Once the old structure is down I'll finish that leaning box elder. That wood will be for his firepit.

Drys quickly and is in the range of 19.5 mbtu per cord. It can be stringy and somewhat difficult splitting by hand.

Not much. It's mostly cut I just have to get the remaining hackberry rounds loaded and help him clean up the limbs.

After checking I think the hickory is either pignut or mockernut.

Looks like you scored some good burning wood. You guys back east and the Midwest have a lot of different types of wood to choose from. Of course that is a great thing.
