Hope all is well friends. I cut and split a small cherry today. It’s warm today but supposed to drop down in the 40’s this weekend so I may get to burn a few more times!

Nice load! Cherry is awesome wood. I love the blue flames that it makes.

Still burning here too. I lit the stove up this am after it was out for a few days. We're back to evening fires for a few days.
It looks like I'll only need to move a little locust, apple and ironwood back to the stacks from my patio stack for some future cold winter days.

There should be enough silver maple and a few pieces of ash to hold the fire longer than the silver maple can.

Should be done after this week though, hopefully.

Yeah, cant seem to let it go out-been 3 days now without a fire, 48* tonight by 4am, was 70 today and 80 yesterday, and cold through the coming week just enough to keep it going-chance of snow on Saturday with a low here of 32*-strange times we live in-Its freaking May in the south...My rule is if it gets below 50*, I need a fire in the mornings...working from home is no vacation. Hope all are well and warm.

rebelduckman Cherry is the quintessential shoulder season wood IMO-looks nice and ready to burn-smells good, pretty flame as my friend Horkn states and just an awesome burn all the way around...Take care my friends and stay safe

Hey rebelduckman ! We're doing just fine up here in the U.P. where we still have less than 100 cases! Downstate, unfortunately, is nowhere near as lucky....

    Nice score.

Hanging in there over here in SW Conn. Not a hot spot per se but more than enough of the virus to be comfortable. My wife is 6 months pregnant with our first. They say it doesn't harm little kids but not a risk I'm interested in taking. We're staying home and I'm doing the wood stacking thing.
Was 80 yesterday, and 50 something today. Looks like we're heading for the 30's again this week at night.
I'll take it now, because the summers get humid and I'm not a huge fan of that.

    Online doin' fine here.

Lots of yard work done, and to do.

It looks like a week for morning fires, let it burn out and cool down. Then, rebuild a fire to be lit the next morning.

Some real nice looking splits. Scored a bunch of cherry in recent months myself.
40's! :shiver: but you're in Mississippi!

Still truckin along here. Haven't had a fire for a week, but like most suppose to get cold this weekend. Gonna have to scrounge around a little bit. With wife and kids home we went through more SS wood than I planned.

Finally getting around to cleaning up my splitting area. It was a mess with rounds. I keep adding to it though.
Also clearing out the brush on top of our bank which is a project unto itself. Did find some down sassafrass, black cherry and a big locust so far.

Rebel, no doubt that feels cold to you as you've had some pretty warm days already. We've had only a couple days in the 70's. Only 37 overnight so that was not bad but we do have a small fire going to take the chill off. Supposed to get to 52 today.
